Peer Support group Project: £21,784

The project will revive a carers group and respite support for carers of people with brain injuries and those being cared for. This will be delivered through weekly activities which will include social networking, training and support for the carers and stimulating activities, including sports sessions, for those being cared for.

Community Project: £36,786

Two-year project to help individuals in Stanmore, an area is south Winchester, to develop skills and confidence by encouraging them to use IT and social media to improve access to services, increase communication and reduce isolation. For novices and less confident users there will be some one-to-one mentoring and then they will be encouraged to attend some small, age-specific community sessions. 80 people are expected to benefit in total with 30 expected to attend on a weekly basis.

Drama & Dance project: £49,615

22-month project to deliver professionally-run drama and dance workshops and training for people with learning disabilities in Winchester, a cathedral city in Hampshire. The project will deliver 120 drama classes, 12 week drama courses, 4 outreach classes to schools and community groups, 40 outreach sessions in Andover, 60 dance classes, 60 developing dancer classes, 60 street dance sessions, and 60 Fit Step classes, totalling 406 sessions over the two years. There will be 147 beneficiaries with at least 75 weekly attendees, excluding the volunteers.

Community Project: £13,440

Two-year project aims to enhance the quality of life of Gurkha veterans aged 60-90 who are resident in Greater Rushmoor. The project will deliver a total of 96 weekly sessions and provide participants with a place to meet so they can socialise at least once a week and exchange their stories, make others aware of any issues which they may have. There will be trips to places such as museums and garden centres. There will be 60 beneficiaries and 40 expected to attend regularly. The initiative aims to address issues related to age, race and social/emotional isolation.

Women Group project: £37,910

Two-year project is based on a previous pilot, provides weekly creative arts and fitness classes in a Housing Estate in Portsmouth to encourage local women to socialise, make friends and learn new skills. The craft aspect of the project will involve the creation of marketable crafts and up-cycled items to sell at local events and at a Creators Market Christmas fair.
