Volunteers visit schools and participate in social, sport activities with local youths. Part of the time is also spent by assisting activities organized in our office such as take part actively in games with kids and other recreational initiatives.

Our volunteers are then involved actively in a series of trips, events around Hungary; they participate in summer camps, for example at lake Balaton and this is a valuable opportunity to find out more about the country.

The aim is to create an international and intercultural environment among participants even if their language skills are not so developed. Beside the sporty and active side, the volunteers are asked to organize workshops (photography, cooking, dancing, drawing, etc) where the people get in touch with other who share the same interests.

The volunteer is going to stay and work with the other EVS volunteers and will take active part in the Organization’s activities. We will go together for sport events like 24 hrs football marathon and all kind of activities where the youth can spend their free time in a useful way.

The volunteer will help in organizing free time activities what we used to do, like after the school the high school and elementary students can come for daycare activities to our youth club and they can lead it, have new activity ideas, playing games with the youth, under the non-formal education’s roles.

Also they will help in our exhibitions, and camps, when we are going to offer useful free time activities for the local youth and local volunteers.

We have one week long summer camps in the holiday season at summer time for children and high school students from the age 10-18.

We will go together to hold ice breaking and knowing each other games and at the afternoon we are going to explore together the local possibilities, like lake, forest, aqua park and so on. We play there volleyball, football, water games, involving the local youth. We also do handcraft activities and artistic workshops, like painting walls, shoes and so on.

We used to organize with the local volunteers hiking, biking programs, when the local youth can learn about the environment in a more enjoyable way.

The volunteer needs to show a kind of “example” to the local youth, for example helping first in the activities what the town municipality organize and the volunteer’s task to involve and influence more local youth to join. For example: volunteers are going to clean the town’s biggest park or helping to organize a town-wide running competition.
