The purpose of the Lamp Oil Award is...
A lamp is a symbol of learning and enlightenment gained from education and experience. Lamp oil is necessary to keep the lamp burning. The Oil Lamp Award is given to provide a measure of fuel to enable the recipient to pursue knowledge and experience. The recipient will be able to further education to satisfy a curiosity, to explore a new horizon, to improve a skill or to be enlightened through service to mankind. This gift may be awarded to an individual connected to the PoncaPublicSchool district of any age who desires to grow academically, professionally, or spiritually.
