LABOR DAY HOLIDAY: No school on Monday, Sept. 7th.

CAR LINE: Please put a name or hold up a sign with your child’s name. This is a safety issue plus it helps to keep the line moving.

ABSENCES AND TARDIES: Please refer to the student handbook for our attendance policy. Students must be in their classroom by 8:00 a.m. or they are tardy. Please no early checkouts unless necessary. Please send doctor excuses, etc., on absences and tardies. Thanks for your help!

NEWS FROM YOUR PARENT CENTER

Parent Tip: Children learn responsibility from chores, but that's not all they learn. Helping around the house builds independence, respect, and even academic skills. Helping with laundry teaches the important math skills of sorting and categorizing. Tidying up is a perfect opportunity to work on organization skills. Note from Mrs. Whisenhunt- "Help Pick Up The Tab For Ronald McDonald House" - Please save all of your can tabs and send to me throughout the school year. They will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock. The money received for the donated tabs helps provide families a place to stay when theyhave afamily memberin the hospital.

Grandparent's Day Lunch

Please come eat lunch with your grandchild! Grandparent's lunch will be Tuesday, September 15, 2015. It is open for all grades. RSVP forms are available on our website under the cafeteria general information tab. The forms will also be sent home for students in grades K-4. Please return the RSVP forms by Tuesday, September 8. We look forward to seeing you!

AR Kickoff!

This week, Accelerated Reader started off with a bang! This year, students will be working to earn classroom rewards as well as library tickets. An Accelerated Reader brochure was sent home this week with more information about the program. Many thanks to Mollie Martin at Personally Stitched for donating the monogramming for the AR class banner.

Please join us for our 1st PPO meeting of the new school year! Tuesday, September 8th at 6:00pm in the Elementary Cafeteria.

Don't forget about our Seat & Feet Drive! We are collecting NEW youth sized socks and underwear for our clothes closet at school. You may send items to school in your child's backpack or you may drop them off in the elementary office. Deadline is September 11th. Thanks to everyone that has donated items already!!

Our school store, "Panther Alley" will be open for business Tuesday, September 15th during grandparent lunches. Items are priced between $.50 - $3.00.

LITTLE ROCKERS: Next Thursday, Sept. 10, is the last day to start on our running team. Practice is Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the track. Remember to be on time. If you need to make up last week’s mile, you will need to arrive at 7:20 a.m. Do not sign up unless you have an adult that can run with you on the marathon day. Make sure your form is turned in prior to Thursday. If you have lost your form, ask me for another.
