Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School shall not be held responsible for clothing or personal possessions lost or damaged by fire, theft, malicious mischief, or personal negligence. Critical Reading/Writing
Grades 7-9 in September 2017

This session is for students to improve their writing skills for high school. In today's world of skimming headlines and quick texts, it is important to learn critical reading and writing skills. Participants will have the opportunity to analyze a short story and produce a finished essay.

Dance and Anatomy
Grades 7-10 in September 2017
Week: July 24th-28th
Time: 1:00 – 4:00PM
Fee: $75
This dance and anatomy session is a sampler of multiple styles and artistic processes for dance for fun, exercise, creativity, collaboration, and awareness of human anatomy. The students will engage in ballet, modern dance, hip hop, and social dance. In addition to learning technique and choreography movement from the teacher, the students will have the opportunity to improvise and choreograph, making up their own movement and learning new modes for creativity. Study of anatomy through movement, drawing, and lecture lessons will support these dancer/scientists in their future pursuits.

Math

Grades 8-9 in September 2017

Week: July 31st – August 4th
Time: 8:30- 11:30AM

Fee: $75

This session is for students who need to improve their skills in math. Designed to identify and remediate topics in elementary math to assist students with the transition to high school. The Core basics of number systems, ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics and probability along with related applications (word problems) are addressed.Weather permitting, one day is dedicated to a scavenger hunt along the Parkway

Science
Grades 7-8 in September 2017

Week: July 31st – August 4th
Time: 8:30-11:30AM OR 12:30-3:30PM

Fee: $150

The science summer camp covers all science subjects such as chemistry when making slime, Anatomy & Physiology and Biology when learning about and dissecting a starfish and shark, and Physics when racing food mobiles made by the science campers. At the end of the week, campers visit the Water Works Museum in nearby Fairmount.
