“Kunigunda Lunaria 2005” – dark shadows in Baltica
On April 29 – May 1, 2005 the biggest yearly dark independent music festival in Baltic States "Kunigunda Lunaria" will take place in Vilnius, for the fourth time becoming the pulsating centre of darkwave/gothic/industrial and other subcultures arts. Each time bigger "Kunigunda" fete this year will 15 bands and projects from 6 countries and a good squad of international DJs.
During three "Kunigunda Lunaria 2005" nights the beautiful, romantic, gothic capital of Lithuania will be filled with various interesting, and spectacular events – concerts, dance-nights, film screening, partying at festival club, etc. - all of them taking place in the mysterious Vilnius Old Town. The festival club in the heart of old Vilnius will become the small capital of the independent subcultures, offering dark music, strange rare movies, special menus and famous Lithuanian beer, of course, for a good time of soulmates.
Though many aspects of independent culture are presented at this festival, the music still remains the most important part of "Kunigunda Lunaria". This year the scene will be hosted by many creative original artists from different sub-genres of darkwave - an outstanding Russian darkwave/trip-hop/ethno act THEODOR BASTARD, emotional Suomi rock noir group ICONCRASH, aggressive Czech digital industrialists GAVORA, their Latvian collegues BIOS and STROPS, and ebm project RED EMPREZ from Poland. Lithuanian side will offer gothic legend SIELA, presenting new album, famous avantgardists IVTKYGYG, deathrock band SAPROPHYTES, other promising newscomers and scene veterans.
This year "Kunigunda Lunaria" is becoming a proof that Eastern Europe has a very interesting scene with strong bands and original ideas. And the coming feast is a good chance to have a great time discovering it. So, everyone intrigued by the idea is invited.
