KUHN BOOSTS ITS HIGH HP POWER HARROW RANGE
KUHN Farm Machinery has added three new machines to its range of high horsepower power harrows, with two new foldable HR machines and a new EL power tiller.
HR 6040 R and HR 8040 R
Two new foldable power harrows have been added to KUHN’s HR range of machines which now features working widths from 1.2 to 8 metres for tractors from 80 to 500hp. The HR 6040 R (6 metre working width) and HR 8040 R (8 metre working width) are primarily aimed at agricultural contractors and large arable farms and are capable of working up to 100ha per day.
Both machines are fitted as standard with an intelligent monitoring system which relays torque and oil temperature data back to the tractor cab so that the operator can closely scrutinise the machine’s operating parameters.
The latest HR machines have been designed to provide maximum reliability, with all components, including central and side gearboxes, casings, rotor drive, transmission units and oil circulation systems capable of withstanding the power and torque delivered by 460hp (HR 6040 R) and 500hp (HR 8040 R) tractors.
Each of the new machines uses 3.5 rotors per metre of working width to maximise their operational efficiency, and rotor speed can be adjusted up to a maximum of 500rpm. Working depth and levelling bar indexing can also be adjusted from the tractor cab.
A large range of additional equipment including track eradicators and rollers is also available.
Retail prices for the HR 6040 R and HR 8040 R start at £40,772 and £51,370 respectively.
EL 402 R
KUHN’sEL 402 R folding power tiller has a working width of 6 metres and is suited for use with tractors up to 400hp.
This new machine uses a large diameter rotor (550mm) and 144 carbide coated blades to produce a very fine tilth, making it suitable for specialist cropping requirements as well as for open field arable operations.
In order to ensure adjacent passes are perfectly level, the EL 402 R is equipped with rollers which are wider than the maximum tilling width. This creates an exceptionally clean finish with no ridges between passes. The rotor and rollers are also offset to ensure a clean and level finish down the machine’s centre line.
As with all KUHN machines, the EL 402 R has been designed to be as reliable as possible: reinforced drive shafts, cut-out clutches, metal seal faces, reinforced rotors and cast-iron gearboxes with built-in oil circulation, all maximise the machine’s ability to cope with heavy workloads.
The EL 402 R is also equipped with KUHN’s intelligent monitoring system which relays torque and oil temperature data back to the tractor cab so that the operator can closely scrutinise the machine’s operating parameters.
A folded width of just 3 metres, plus the inclusion of a transport wheel, make the EL 402 R easy to manoeuvre from field to field with minimal fuss and inconvenience.
The EL 402 R-600R retails at £48,950.
