KRESA AT Committee

Meeting 4/17/15 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

1.  Success stories: Andrea had a student whose parents purchased WordsForLife app. She provided parent training and parents worked with the student over Spring Break. Upon returning, the student was able to independently use target words with Andrea during therapy.

2.  Proposals: Chelsea – Two 6th graders at Galesburg Augusta, extreme difficulty with writing both receiving OT services. Proposing Chromebooks for each student with Co:Writer total cost, $ 656.68. Jen – ASD – Middle School Student at WoodsEdge Learning Center, iPad Air 2 with Prolquo2Go, $860.98. Doug – Vicksburg Middle School student, iPad Air 2, Noise Canceling headset, Mount’n Mover wheelchair mount, $2,393.94.

Micah – 13 year old at Portage West Middle School, BrailleNote APEX with Monitor, $6428 – tabled, the AT Team has questions about data and further information.

3.  Follow up item from February Workshop Wrap-up Discussion: Make a check list of everything we need ahead of time (evaluation, name tags, etc.)- PD sub-committee will draft this – we will discuss this next month in a subcommittee

4.  MITS Summer Institute, June 15-18, 2015 in Traverse City MI. Should some of our committee members attend this? Joy Zabala will be presenting on SETT. http://mits.cenmi.org/Events/EventDetails/tabid/502/EventId/1494/Default.aspx

**Will the AT Committee pay for the PD with AT Funds?

Laura Hulett stated AssistechKnow in GR, Kent ISD is looking for presenters. Laura is considering presenting about Mindfulness.

5.  Hosting a PODD training for Region 3 here at KRESA. Targeted for September. Laura Taylor presenter. Group discussion. (Laura Hulett will take feedback to the next Region 3 meeting.)

Laura Hulett will ask about where the next PODD training will be and if we (KRESA) could be possibly be the host.

6.  Home Loan Agreement for AT devices: Policy and documentation

a.  Changes discussed at last meeting, review new draft?

b.  School Loan form to be created by Forms sub-committee

7.  Website sub-committee on the following action items:

a.  Upload updated Flowchart – revisit this due to access issues during Workshop

b.  Upload SETT form to Website

c.  Upload request form for SETT framework assistance directed to AT committee (Forms sub-committee created the form, Michele will take to admin. for approval, would need to be converted to online form that can be emailed directly from the website)

d.  Create a location on our website for local staff requests (e.g. materials and tool orders)

8.  Create protocol for checking in dedicated devices: Revisit Gail’s Checklist

Review

a.  Jen and Tina will begin to look at what other regions/ISD’s/MITS is using

b.  How do we communicate that with local and KRESA staff?

c.  Timelines- possibly checking in dedicated devices with Home Loan Agreement in April to avoid an influx

d.  Michele, Jen, Tine and Gary meet to discuss dedicated devices. Results of the meeting?

9.  Identify an AT Point Person for each local to check in/out devices, provide training, answer questions, guide teams, assist with Snap Media

10.  Wish list items for SNAP Media: think about what additional items to purchase?
