Lower Austrian HirtenbergerGroup acquires majority stake
in Styrian environmental tech specialist
Frohnleiten/Hirtenberg (03/20/2015) - HirtenbergerGroup located in Hirtenberg south of Vienna has acquired a majority share in the Komptech Group in Frohnleiten (Styria). This is Hirtenberger’s first move into environmental technology. “Adding sustainable, environment-saving technologies was an important goal in expanding our business portfolio,” saidHirtenberger CEO Dr. Stefan Odenthal. “The acquisition of Komptech supports our sustainable growth strategy,” stressing the long-term nature of Hirtenberger’s planning horizon and business approach. No information was provided concerning the purchase price.
Komptech is prepared for the future
Styrian environmental technology specialist Komptech is the world market leader in its fields. “Hirtenberger’s involvement substantially strengthens our equity capital base, so that we are well prepared for the future,” said Komptech CEO Dr. Heinz Leitner. The machine manufacturer, whose founder and owner Ing. Josef Heissenberger succumbed to a fatal accident in September of 2014, has grown steadily in recent years. “In the last several years we have made large investments in the development of new products and the expansion of our production locations. Now we have to further roll out our innovative solutionsto the world market,” Leitner continued.
“A real win-win situation”
Komptech adds to the Hidden Champion portfolio of the Hirtenberger Group. “We’re convincedthat wewill benefit from numerous synergies,” said Leitner of what he described as a win-win situation for both companies. “With Komptech we can significantly strengthen our entire group in the coming years,” added Odenthal. Hirtenberger has acquired 80 percent of the shares of the Komptech Group.
