Handbooks
Senior High handbooks were distributed. Electronic versions of both Jr. and Sr. High Handbooks are available on the Knowledge Bowl website under KB Coaches’ Information. If any Sr. High Coaches want a hard copy mailed to them, please let Gail know.
Cell Phone Policy
The cell phone policy was reviewed and a small addition was made. Coaches mentioned that they had agreed to collect phones from their students prior to events. The addition was made to the cell phone policy and posted on the website.
Website – Student Activities ()
Changes to the Service Cooperative’s website were reviewed. All necessary forms, deadlines, upcoming meetings, invitational and region schedules are posted on the website.
The Coaches’ Directory, Region 6 and Region 8 Invitationals are in a Dropbox folder and are always up-to-date. The link to the folder can be accessed through the website at any time- a Dropbox account isn’t required. Please check regularly. Please review and let Gail know immediately if you notice an error.
There are several schools who typically offer to host an Invite who haven’t requested a date yet. If you are considering hosting, please look over the current list of Invites and let Gail know as soon as possible.

Questions from past seasons are available on the website to be used as practice questions. This part of the website is password protected. If you need the password, please email Gail at .
Senior High KB
Regions 6 & 8 will each advance 3 teams to the State Knowledge Bowl Competition on April 9-10, 2015.
State Knowledge Bowl for 2016 is Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14.
Knowledge Bowl Coaches’ Clinic
A brochure for the coaches’ clinic scheduled for October 23, 2014 in St. Paul was distributed. The brochure is available on the website. Coaches (both new and experienced) are strongly encouraged to attend the clinic.
Other
There was discussion about whether a 5th grader can compete in Knowledge Bowl. Gail has checked with Susan Ward at Lakes Country, and she is not aware of any rules restricting younger students from “playing up.” Her recommendation is that each school can decide for themselves.
The list of restaurants in Worthington and Pipestone will be created, the Marshall list will be updated, and all will be posted on the website.
The Spring Knowledge Bowl Meeting for coaches will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Mark your calendar!
