Knife Party area brand new production and performance outfitfronted by Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen.

While on tour with their previous band, Rob and Gareth felt the urge tostart a new project with the aim of showcasing ideas whichdidn’t fit into the existing mould, and decided to name themselves after theirfavouriteDeftones track.

Taking inspiration from a number of different genres, Knife Party arefocusing their attention on everything EDM. They are influenced byelectro house, dubstep, moombahton / 110, drumstep and much more – butcurrently they are most excited about the fusion of house and dubstep.

Rob explains: "It all really started when we heard some early Excision /Jack Beats / Noisia stuff. They had a few tracks that were borderlinedubstep, but at 128bpm with a 4/4 beat, and we fucking loved it – morethan any individual house or dubstep tracks. Then people like Skrillexcame along, and although everybody was going mental over his dubstepmaterial, the house/dubstep combinations of tracks like 'Rock & Roll'were what really excited us. We knew we had something to offer butcouldn't do it properly within Pendulum, especially with all the drumand bass history attached...so we decided to branch off and start fresh. It's an amazing feeling to be starting all over again."

Knife Party’s first ever show was at BBC Radio 1's ‘Come Together’ event atSpace, Ibiza in August 2011. The crowd had never heard of them, and itwas the first time that anyone (including their manager) had heard themusic - yet their performance obliterated the dancefloor. Their set wasbroadcast live on Radio 1 and can now be found all over the Internet, with tracks like ‘Internet Friends’ and ‘Tourniquet’ becoming instantfavourites months before they were even released.

Their debut EP ‘100% No Modern Talking’ was released on 12th December 2011, and the four tracks that make up the EP, which racked up over 50,000 downloads in less than 12 hours on the day of its release, have now received over 500,000 downloads worldwide. Despite being available for free on the Knife Party website the EP broke the iTunes Top Ten charts in both the UK and Australia as well as reaching No.1 in theBeatport Releases chart and has received unprecedented support from tastemakers and club DJ’s the world over.

Knife Party have also been involved in arguably one of the biggest cross over dance hits of the year ‘Antidote’, their collaboration with Swedish House Mafia which broke the Top Ten in official singles charts across the globe. March 2012 saw them curate their own Earstorm Stage at Future Music Festival in Australia, complete a US tour and play in front of 100,000 revelers at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
