With recent changes to employment law, the process for managing TUPE transfers has become more complex over the last year. The LMC, LMC Law and Acas East of England offer this course to help partners and practice managers understand the new system.
Programme will include:
· Legal situation: refresher of key principles of TUPE (transfer of undertaking protection of employment) law and review of the recent changes to the law.
· General practice situations: identify the types of general practice situations that will involve TUPE and summarise the legal responsibilities of GP’s and managers.
· Acas good practice: a summary of the good employment practice recommended by Acas in TUPE situations focusing on information and consultation with staff.
Trainers:
Shanee Baker, LMC Law
Qualified at the Bar in 1989. Held a variety of corporate commercial in house positions since, namely, head of legal at City and Guilds, senior acquisitions lawyer at Capita PLC, spent ten years as senior lawyer to GPC at the the British Medical Association before leaving April 2014 to start up LMC Law. Most of not all LMC Law clients moved from the BMA to join LMC Law to obtain a more specialised local service for both the LMC and its constituents.
