Kirk Balk Academy – Hardwick Hall Gothic Writing Trip

Dear Parent/Carer,

Following your expression of interest, I can confirm that the Hardwick Hall Gothic Writing Trip will take place on Tuesday 20th of February 2018. The trip will cost £23which includes an educational tour ofthe National Trust’s Hardwick Hall, travel to and from the Hall, and a gothic writing workshop.

All trips must be paid for online via ParentPayby January 12th, 2017 at 14:30pm. Please also return the Medical Form and the attached slip as soon as possible, and not after the January 12 deadline. If you are unsure how to access ParentPay, please enquire with reception staff at the Academy. The option to pay for the trip is only available to students who have already expressed their interest in attending.

The suggested itinierary is as follows:

Attendance and behaviour within the academy will be taken into consideration and all students will be expected to follow the same expectations and guidelines at Hardwick Hall as they do in the academy. You will need to sign the reply slip for each of these points to say that they have been acknowledged and have your full agreement.

  • Your child must not have any unauthorised absences or family holidays during term time from now up until the trip.
  • Your child must not display poor behaviour or receive any exclusions from the Academy.

Failure to comply with any of the above criteria may unfortunately result in your child being removed from the trip at any point.

Please note the following:

  • Please ensure that your child brings any medication that they are likely to require. Please ensure that this is labelled with your child’s name and is handed in to a member of staff.
  • Please ensure that your child is equipped with clothing appropriate to the weather, as we will be outside; since it may be cold, or wet, please ensure that your child has a suitable coat and shoes.
  • Your child will need to bring a packed lunch to be eaten on site. A lunch will be provided for students who receive free school meals.
  • We will be begin the school day, as usual, in full school uniformand leave for Hardwick Hallat approximately 9:30am
  • We will return to school for approximately 15:30pm.
  • The time of expected arrival at Kirk Balk upon return is only an estimate and is dependent upon traffic. Students will therefore be advised to text/call parents to update them as the journey progresses. Students must be met at Kirk Balk and will not be allowed to walk home alone. Please ensure that you do not park in the bus bays outside school.

The only method of payment is online using the Parent Pay system:

  • If you have not used the Parent Pay system before contact the Finance department in school for your child’s log in details and any help you require.

Please note that trip payments are paid over to third parties such as Bus Companies /Venues /Travel Companies etc. In the event of a student being withdrawn from the trip due to not fulfilling the criteria below, or voluntarily withdrawing, due to illness or change of mind, a full or partial refund may not be available dependent on the Terms and Conditions of the company involved.
