Entries:

Top 5 teams in Kingco 3A league play.

Team Entry:

Team roster is limited to 20 players, 2 team managers and 1 scorekeeper. Bench is limited to team entry roster and two coaches.

Postponement Procedures:

Schools will be notified as early as possible of postponed games.

Postponed games will be played on the next available day.

Discontinued Games:

If a game has to be discontinued due to inclement weather, the game will be complete if 5

innings have been played (4 ½ if home team is winning) per League handbook. If less

than 5 innings have been completed, the game will be replayed from the beginning.

Dressing Rooms:

All teams should come dressed to play upon arriving at the fields.

Game Balls:

Each team must provide two new 12” unrestricted flight “Optic yellow” game balls for each game in which they are scheduled to play.

Team Uniforms:

Regulation uniforms are required.

Umpires:

Tournament management and the umpires association will schedule 2 umpires per game.

Infield Practice:

Pre-game infield is limited to 10 minutes. Home team will take infield practice first, followed by the visiting team.

Official Score:

The home team will keep the official scorebook.

Protests:

The coaches and the umpires must resolve any questions regarding rule interpretations immediately. If an agreement cannot be reached, the umpire may consult the games committee who will make the final decision.

Game Length:

All games are played to completion (7 innings) except when the game is called due to inclement weather, or by undefined circumstances that cause the game to end. If either team is ahead by 10 runs at the end of 5 innings, the game will end with that team being declared the winner. If necessary, the NFHS tiebreaker rule 4-2-6 will be used (the top of the 9th inning begins by placing the last out of the previous inning as the runner on second base).

Ground Rules:

The umpire will discuss ground rules with head coaches prior to the start of the game.

Home Team:

The team with the highest seed will be the home team.

Medical and Athletic Training:

The host school will provide a Certified Athletic Trainer pres4ent for site medical services. Taping can be done by the ATC, but each school will need to provide its own supplies. Ice and water will be available on the field to all participants

In regards to any and all injuries there will be a designated medical authority who will make all decisions in regards to “Return to Play” for the tournament. This person will be designated at the start of each contest. If no medical authority exists for a contest then any and all head injuries will not be allowed to “Return to Play”.
