Irish dance band King Kong Company are preparing to bring their electric live show to the UK for 8 dates across October and November. Having stunned audiences at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Nozstock, Shambala, Beautiful Days and a host of other festivals over the last 6 years, this will be the first time the Company have marched across the UK for a full tour of indoor concerts.
Celebrating the tour, King Kong Company are releasing the single ‘Scarity Dan’, an all-horns-blazing electro-dub banger. The video, a slightly sinister look at a man who has come to the end of his tether at work, is available to watch right now on YouTube HERE or listen to the song HERE on Soundcloud (impact date October 27th 2017).
The band’s award winning live show combines instrumentations, electronics and visual/performance pieces in a spectacular mash-up of drum and bass, dirty dub, hard house and heavy rock. Clubbers, ravers and rockers will unite in what is sure to be 8 nights of mayhem, as King Kong Company’s Mark Graham says, “our show goes down really well on large festival stages, when we condense that and bring it to indoor venues, the atmosphere is always more intense, especially when you're up close and personal with an audience. We're ready to blow the roof off some clubs and make some new friends. Brace yerselves!”
Having got together at the start of 2011, King Kong Company originally set themselves the mammoth task of releasing one music video per month for a year on YouTube. The plan was 12 tracks and then one gig, (just the one…) and everyone would go back to their day job. Well, 140+ gigs (hot off the stage from playing to a 10,000 strong crowd at Electric Picnic in Ireland) and fourteen music videos later, the band are still going hard with no signs of going home.
Earlier this year King Kong Company also released their signature beer, Commotion Lotion, a collaboration with Irish brewer, Yellowbelly Beer. Available in 330ml cans, the beer is a hazy, turbo-charged blend of Buckfast and beer, perfect for fuelling those blazing hot festival days and dance filled nights.
