A. Objective

1. Toencourageyoungpeopletocontinuetheireducationafterhighschool

B. EstablishmentoftheScholarshipFund

1. Anannualassessmentof$2perextensionClubmembershallbepaidintothe

Scholarshipfund.

2. Additionalmoneymaybereceivedfromanysourceandcreditedtothefund.

3. Everyfouryearsbeginningwith1964,theScholarshipcommitteeshallrecommendtothememberstheamounttobeassessedtomeetthecurrentneedoftheScholarshipfund.

C. Administration

ThescholarshipcommitteeshalladministertheScholarshipfundandshallberesponsiblefor:

1. DeterminingtheeligibilityforgrantsfromtheScholarshipFund.

2. TakingappropriateactiontoinformeligiblepersonaoftheexistenceoftheScholarship

Fund.

3. RecommendingtothememberstheamountofmoneyintheScholarshipFund,anddirectingtheExtensionCouncilTreasurertomakethenecessarydisbursements.

4. PresentingawrittenannualreportoftheoperationoftheScholarshipFundattheannual

Achievementmeeting.D. Eligibility

Anyhighschoolseniororcollegestudentshallbeeligibleforthegrant,providedthepersonhasthefollowingqualifications.

1. Isadmittedtoanyaccreditedcollege.

2. Ismaintainingascholasticstandingsuchastosatisfytherequirementoftheinstitutiontowhichhehasbeenadmitted.

3. IsaresidentofKimballCounty,Nebraska.E. AmountsoftheScholarshipGrants

1. TwoExtensionScholarshipsof$300.00willbeofferedandneednotberepaid.

2. Thegrantwillbepaidinoneinstallment,whenthestudentisdulyregisteredforthesecondsemester.

3. Theawardisavailableonlyfortheyearinwhichtheawardismade.Requestforarenewalforadvancededucationwillbeconsidered.

TwoExtensionScholarshipsof$300.00willbeofferedandneednotberepaid

Theawardwillbepaidinoneinstallment,aftertherecipienthasenrolledinhis/hersecondsemestercourseofstudy.Proofofenrollment(transcript,registration,etc.)forthesecondsemesterisrequiredbeforepaymentismade.

Theawardisavailableonlyfortheyearinwhichtheawardismade.Requestforarenewalforadvanceeducationwillbeconsidered.

Collegeapplicationwillbeconsideredonanequalbasiswithhighschoolsenior.

Eligibilityforthisscholarshipwillnotbebasedonwhetherthestudenthasreceivedotherscholarships.Thestudentmustmeetthiscriteriainordertoqualify:

1.BearesidentofKimballCounty,Nebraska

2.Beintheupperone-halfoftheirhighschoolgraduatingclass.

3.Youmusthavetworecommendations–onefromateacher,minister,orfriend.

4.Writeashortresume’aboutyourself.

EachapplicantwillberesponsibleforsubmittingafullyfilledoutapplicationformtotheKimball/BannerCountyExtensionOfficebyApril1.Theapplicantmayuseadditionalsheetsofpaperforlongeranswersifhe/shefeelsitisnecessary.Apersonalinterviewmayberequested.
