Just a thought
When we receive Communion, Jesus comes to each of us personally, as though each of us was the only person in the world at that moment. A spiritual bond is forged between us and Him, with the result that we are able to enter into a deeper intimacy with Him than if He were physically present. We should avail of this wonderful time to group in intimacy and friendship with the Lord.
However, we must never forget that the Jesus we receive in the Eucharist is the same Jesus who gave His life for us. The words of the consecration remind us of this; ”This is My Body given for you… This is My Blood shed for you.” Hence, Communion should evoke a spirit of sacrifice in us.
20th Sunday in Ordinary Time 19/08/2018Please pray for Helen Falvey, Firies who died recently. May she rest in peace.

Kilcummin Looking Good:We would urge everybody to refrain from dumping litter on our roads; the most common items seem to be cigarette boxes, drink cartons, plastic bottles, cans, etc. It’s great to see so many people taking pride in the appearance of Kilcummin and making a big effort in cleaning up the area. The appearance of the village has been commented on in a very positive way by many and a big thanks to the people who have put the time and effort in. Míle Buíochas.

Prayer of the World Meeting of Families 2018
God, our Father,
We are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,
One family, in the Spirit of your love.
Make us patient and kind,
Gentle and generous,
Welcoming to those in need.
Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.
Protect all families with your loving care,
Especially those for whom we now pray:
Increase our faith,
Strengthen our hope,
Keep us safe in your love,
Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share.
This we ask, through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
