Kids Klub Director

Altoona Campus is searching for a professional individual with leadership qualities to implement the vision of Kids Klub. This individual is to plan, coordinate, and direct the day-to-day operation of the before and after school program and summer camp program.

Summary/Objective
The Kids Klub Director plans and implements program strategies for 8 school age sites in consultation with the Executive Director. The position ensures compliance DHS requirements are met, adheres to program guidelines, and develops, manages and monitors special topic programs. The Kids Klub Director position provides a high quality school age program for the SEP school district in areas of programming, administration, marketing, interviewing, and supervision of staff.

Programming:

  1. Development of an internal education program for education needs and requirements.
  2. Formulates and implements programs, goals and objectives for Kids Klub programs.
  3. Plans, develops, manages and evaluates special-topic programs and training.
  4. Ensures quality control of consistency that required components of programs meet the accreditation standards or other compliance requirements.
  5. Ensures quality control of compliance in documentation for all certified activities.
  6. Conducts onsite review of programs and industry-supported meetings.

Marketing and Communication:

  1. Responsible for overseeing all communication with parents.
  2. Actively market Kids Klub to the SEP community via marketing materials, attendance at community events, and public speaking.
  3. Plan and conduct parent information meetings prior to each new program year for summer and fall.
  4. Keep lines of communication open between Kids Klub and the SoutheastPolkCommunitySchool District.
  5. Hold monthly Kids Klub staff meetings to pass on relevant information and exchange ideas for program improvement with staff.
  6. Provide guidance, supervision and understanding to all staff as needed on an individual basis.

Administration:

  1. Oversee all expenditures made. Assist in the development of the annual Kids Klub operating budget
  2. Attend all committee, staff and supervisory meetings of Altoona Campus as needed.
  3. Serve as liaison between the Kids Klub Advisory Board, Kids Klub staff members, SEP School District, and the community.
  4. Submit accurate staff time sheets, reimbursements, mileage claims etc.
  5. Design, layout and content of all promotional brochures.
  6. Serve as contact person with printing company and assist with distribution of all printed materials.
  7. Create, update, and modify any and all forms used in the enrollment process as well as any marketing materials.
  8. Apply for grant monies annually or as needed for program improvement as well as maintain other funding sources (United Way).
  9. Assist the On-Site Directors in preparation for yearly Department of Human Services re-licensing of all sites.
  10. Implement the vision of Kids Klub.

Interviewing and Supervision of Staff:

  1. Oversee all hiring, firing, evaluations, and scheduling of all Kids Klub staff. Oversee all program planning.
  2. Create a reward system to motivate and encourage staff.
  3. Maintain staff files ensuring that staff meets all requirements according to DHS licensing standards.
  4. In conjunction with the Assistant Director, coordinate training opportunities for staff on a regular basis.
  5. Authorizes timesheets for the Kids Klub department on a semi-monthly basis.

Special Events and Fundraising Projects:

1. Coordinate annual program wide family events as well as any other special events.

2. Oversee any fundraising efforts

3. United Way funding

Supervisory Responsibility

The position supervises and provides direction to the On-Site Coordinators, Lead Team Members and Team Members who are engaged in the activities of the Kids Klub program.

Salary, Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Salary Range is $45,000-$55,000 a year, Exempt, and a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

To and from sites, along with conferences including out of state.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or closely related field.
  • Five years’ progressive professional responsibility for management and administration of education programs, including curriculum development and demonstrated advanced knowledge of the continuing education essentials and standards.
  • Must meet the Director Requirements set by the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in education/administration or related field.
  • Experience in logistical administration of before and after school programs and meeting activities; prior association or nonprofit experience.
