Kent Cyclones ADM Structure

Red Team (Top Level Team)
  • Play games 4 on 4 with Goalie
  • Team has fulltime Goalie
  • Ability to also play some Full ice under AAU – Red strong Only
  • Play in CSHL, Strong or Weak Division (Greater Cleveland Area)
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
  • Includes 10-12 weeks of Skills Training
  • Dues paid Directly to Kent Cyclones Organization
  • Purchase of Cyclones Jersey required
  • Coached by Cyclones appointed coach – USA Hockey certified
  • Practice Jersey Provided
  • Game Format
  • Season is Mid Aug-Early March
  • Participate in Preseason
  • Approx.: 11 home games and 11 away games
  • Will participate in local and out of town Tournaments
  • Participate in MLK tournament or local Presidents day depending on MLK availability
  • Play 3-14 Minute periods
  • Home games played primarily on KSU rec rink
  • Keep Score
  • Games managed by USA Hockey certified official
/ White Team (Mid Level Team)
  • Play games 4 on 4 with Goalie
  • No Full Time Goalie (rotate)
  • Play in CSHL, Strong or Weak Division (Greater Cleveland Area)
  • Practice 1-2 times per week
  • Includes 10- 12 weeks of Skills Training
  • Dues paid Directly to Kent Cyclones Organization
  • Purchase of Cyclones Jersey required
  • Coached by Cyclones appointed coach – USA Hockey Certified
  • Practice Jersey provided
  • Game Format
  • Season is Mid Aug-Early March

  • Includes 10-12 weeks of Skills Training
  • Dues paid Directly to Kent Cyclones Organization
  • Purchase of Cyclones Jersey required
  • Jersey provided for practices
  • Coached by Cyclones appointed coach – USA Hockey Certified
  • Game Format
  • Season is Mid Oct-Early March
  • Games begin Mid December
  • Practices will be combined with KSU Lil Cyclones
  • Approx.: 6 home games and 6 away games
  • All games are Jamboree Style
  • Can participate in local tournaments at teams discretion
  • Participate in MLK tournament or local Presidents day depending on MLK availability
  • Play 2-20 minute halves
  • Home games played cross ice on ½ ice
  • Do Not Keep Score
  • Games managed by coaches

KSU Lil Cyclones
  • Combined Effort between Kent Cyclones and KSU Ice Arena
  • Coached by Kent Staff
  • USA Hockey Certified
  • No Games
  • No Tournaments
  • No Goalies
  • All Sessions at KSU Ice Arena
  • Focus is on Skill Development (Individual/Team)
  • Jersey Provided
  • Skills Training Not included
  • Follow USA Hockey ADM Program
  • Paid Directly to Kent State Ice Arena
  • 2 Sessions (Oct-Dec / Jan-Mar )
  • 2 times per week
/ Learn to Play Hockey
  • For Beginners – New to Hockey
  • ADM Skill Development
  • Run by KSU Ice Arena
  • Coached by Kent Staff
  • USA Hockey Certified
  • No Games
  • No Tournaments
  • No Goalies
  • All Sessions at KSU Ice Arena
  • Focus is on Skill Development (individual/Team)
  • No Jersey Provided
  • Equipment supplied by KSU for session use- no investment in equipment necessary with the exception of skates (skates can too be rented from KSU)

Goalie Skills Training is offered for all full time goalies in addition to player Skills Training

Players not participating in placements will be placed on teams or groups determined by Coaching and Team Affairs committee after they have evaluated player

CTA-Committee will assist with level team enters CSHL (lowest level will rotate goalies)

Most tournaments /Jamborees will be played cross-ice

Additional skating instruction available outside the organization through Kent State University

Players participating in tryouts could be assigned to any of the above teams
