To All Whom it May Concern:

We are collecting petitions from individuals that would have an interest in camping at the Crows Creek Horse Camp if there were Electric and Water Connections available. You do NOT have to live in Clay County to have a voice in this issue. We need your help TODAY! Petitions will be submitted to the Clay County Parks Department to let them know the interest.

The board members of the parks department have been trying for many years to setup improvements for a few of the camp sites in Crows Creek Horse Camp, but lack of interest and funding has always put this project on the back burner.

The Kearney Saddle Club has expressed extreme interest. We feel confident that other equine related clubs and individuals in the surrounding counties would feel the same and would be interested in making Smithville Lake, Crows Creek Camp one of their weekend camp sites.We also believe a donation here would save many more dollars in fuel expenses.

Members of our club attended a Parks Board meeting on April 13th. The Parks Board Members were very supportive of our desires. We are told the installation of the utilities on 20 sites would cost between $30,000 and $40,000 and if there is enough interest and if we could help with the costs we may persuade the Parks Commission to match the funds we bring in. Members of our club are willing to donate funds, work fund raisers and solicit donations from businesses to make this happen. We can’t do this by ourselves. We need your help.
