Students are to go to the commons upon entering the building in the morning, not to their lockers!

Tuesday: Sock it to drugs! Wear crazy socks

Wednesday: Team up against drugs! Wear your favorite sports team apparel (Hopefully Royals are playing on this day)

Thursday: Saying "No!" to drugs is no sweat! Wear sweats

Friday: JWMS is Proud to Be Drug Free! School Spirit day

All communication for 5th grade re: your child is through the MS. Examples would be if your child is sick, appointment, coming in late, etc.

New for 2015-2016!!! Students that are absent because of doctor's appointment will need to have a note from the doctor's office. Thank you for your cooperation!

USE OF SCHOOL PHONE: Use of the school phone to call home regarding school matters is allowed on Lunch Break or with a pass from your teacher. Passes will not be issued if you are late to class. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

·  Cell Phones – are to be in your school locker. If they are seen or heard in a class they will be taken by the teacher and turned into the office. You can check your messages at your locker between classes. Phones are not allowed in the lunchroom. Thank you for your cooperationJ

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Girls Basketball – Girls play Monday, October 26, 2015 at Sabetha beginning at 4:30 PM. The 8th Grade will play at the Sabetha Middle School and the 7th Grade will play at their (Secondary) High School gym.

Middle School Wrestling – The first meet is Thursday, November 4th at Pleasant Ridge at 4:00 PM.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES next week on Tuesday, October 27th from 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Mr. Hamon will have parent meeting at 6:00 PM in the library next Tuesday during Parent/Teacher Conferences. We hope to have feedback on the MS and the district about our curricular offerings, our facilities and how we can improve these areas. These meeting should only last about 30 to 45 minutes.

JW Junior Tiger Basketball Clinic! Signs and clinic for Jr. Tiger Basketball is Saturday, October 2th at the Meriden United Methodist Church for 3rd – 6th Grade. The Face book Page is Jeff West Jr. Tigers Basketball Club!

FLU SHOTS! The Jefferson County Health Department will be providing flu shots at Jeff West Middle School, October 27th from 3:30 – 7:30PM on a first come, first served bases. Fees may be submitted to Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Medicare Part B, and Kancare. Please bring appropriate insurance card, cash or check. Flu vaccine options available: Quadrivalent vaccine(covers 4 flu strains) for 6 months and older, $30 and High Dose vaccine for 65 years and older, $56.
