Job Scope:

The JuniorStaff Accountant will support the Controller and Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.

Requirements:

  • Associate’sor Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business-related field is preferred.
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-disciplined.
  • Strong knowledge and usage of MS Excel 2010 and MS Word 2010.
  • Must possess satisfactory written and verbal skills in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department.
  • Must be willing to travel for tradeshows at least twice a year.
  • Must speak, read, write, and comprehend English.

Job Description:

Daily tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and file multi-state sales tax and medical device tax.
  • Maintain Accounts Receivable and Payables for foreign subsidiary.
  • Apply and initiate Intercompany transfers with subsidiary.
  • Multiple bank reconciliations –some in foreign currency.
  • Take lead role in maintaining inventory locations, inventory cycle counts and variance research.

Monthly tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain monthly accruals.
  • Track and calculate commissions for all internal and external sales representatives.
  • Assist in monthly account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
  • Reconcile monthly corporate credit card purchases.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules on the FAS Software System; ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
  • Help develop new processes by analyzing current procedures and recommend changes.

Annual tasks include, but not limited to:

  • Travel to Tradeshows twice a year to lead, track, and reconcile all monetary and inventory transactions.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required by the Controller or Accounting Manager - often on short notice and may be outside of the typical accounting role.

TheJunior Staff Accountant position is non-exempt, with normal work hours from 8:30AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday; flexibility is a plus, as extra hours may be required to meet deadlines.
