Junior MembershipFees:

Membershipfeesareonceagainthesamerateaslastseason.JuniormembersatSouthAntrimfallintoour'Schools' subscription category with the annual membership fee set at £70.00 per year for the hour’sweeklysession.Thisisaflatratefeethatcoversallexpensesthroughouttheseason.Membershipfeesarepayable by 31st October 2015 & cheques should be made payable to 'South Antrim Hockey Club' forboys,or ‘South Antrim Ladies Hockey Club’ forgirls.

GIRLS – Players on girls’ teams are requested to wear a black skort, red top and black and red hooped socks for matches (these are available from a link made available via the South Antrim website, taking an average of 3 – 4 weeks delivery)

South Antrim Hockey Club accept and recognise both their moral and legal responsibilities under the Children (NI)Order1995, the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (NI) Order (2003) and the Safeguarding VulnerableGroups(NI)Order2007andtheCodeofEthicsandGoodPracticeforChildren’sSport,IrishSportsCouncil,andSports CouncilNorthernIreland2000,updated2006(IHACodeofEthics)aboutprovidingadutyofcareforchildrenand young people and endeavour to carry those out by thefollowing;

South Antrim Hockey Club is committed to providing the best possible environment for all young people involved inthesport.Youngpeopledeservetobegivenenjoyable,safesportingopportunities,freeofabuseofanykind.Theyarealsoexpectedtotakecareofeachotherandtreatallotherparticipants,coachesandothervolunteerswithfairnessand respect at alltimes.

Young people are entitledto:

  • Have fun and enjoyhockey
  • Be safe and to feelsafe
  • Be listenedto
  • Bebelieved
  • Have a voice in relation to their activities withinhockey
  • Be treated with dignity, sensitivity andrespect
  • Participate on an equitable and fair manner, irrespective of ability, disability, gender, religion, social class,etc.
  • Experience competition at a level at which they feelcomfortable
  • Make complaints and have them dealtwith
  • Get help againstbullies
  • SayNo
  • Protect their ownbodies

Young people shouldalways:

  • Play fairly at all times, do theirbest
  • Be organised and on time, tell someone if you are leaving a venue orcompetition
  • Respect team members, even when things gowrong
  • Respect opponents, be gracious indefeat
  • Abidebytherulessetdownbyteammanagerswhentravellingtoawayevents,representingtheclub,school,province or country,etc.
  • Behave in a manner that avoids bringing Hockey in any way intodisrepute
  • Treat Sports Leaders with respect, (including administrators, coaches, umpires, managers, children’s officers,club officials,etc.,)
  • Look out for themselves and the welfare ofothers
  • Talk to the Child Protection Officer within the club if they have anyproblems

Young people shouldnever:

  • Cheat
  • Useviolence
  • Abuse other players through physicalcontact
  • Shout or argue with officials, team mates or opponents
  • Harm team members, opponents or theirproperty
  • Bully or use bullying tactics to isolate another player or gainadvantage
  • Take banned substances, alcohol, smoke or engage in sexualbehaviour
  • Keep secrets, especially if they have caused or could causeharm
