Annual Conference - June 8-11, 2017

Grove City Detour! PA Route 208, the main road from the I-79 Grove City exit to the college, is due to be closed for construction work beginning June 5 -- just in time for AC2017. There will be separate car and truck detours in place until mid-July. The car detour will use Irishtown Road (Route 2005), PA Route 58 and George Junior Road. Get details.

We are searching for a Part-time Church Administrative Assistant. 20 hrs/wk.

Responsibilities will include: supporting our Pastor, writing, preparation and publication of documents (weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, various public communications), calendar scheduling and coordination, researching needs for an ongoing variety of projects, volunteer recruitment etc.
An understanding of Microsoft Word and Outlook are a necessity. Any experience in Servant Keeper, Excel, and QuickBooks would be considered an added benefit. Hourly wage based on experience.

Looking for a way to stay healthy and fit. Try "pickleball" at the Chippewa United Methodist Church, Community Life Center, 118 McMillen Ave, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Our court is available for singles and doubles players of all ages on Mondays from 10 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. The cost is $5.00. On Tuesdays, beginning on May 2nd from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the Farmers Market for Beaver County begins. This community activity will be held at various locations throughout the county including the Chippewa United Methodist Church (CUMC) grounds. Vendors will be located in the CUMC parking lot located on Shenango and Darlington Roads offering fresh fruits and vegetables. What a healthy and nutritious way to start off the summer!
Spiritual Simplicity, (Part 2 of Chip Ingram’s True Spirituality) began on Wednesday, May 3rd and continues on consecutive Wednesdays for an additional seven weeks. Through Biblical teaching and practical insights, you will learn how to do less and love more, shifting from complex to simple, from hurried to peaceful, from never enough time to time enough for those you love. A Christian concert with local band “Seek” is coming to the Community Life Center @ 118 McMillen Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.on July 20th. The group starts playing/singing at 7 p.m. The concert will end @ 9 p.m. This event is meant to bring believers together, no matter the denomination to praise God. The band is hoping to encourage unity and empower those that attend to reach the world with the gospel message that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Lois Murray
Lois is a former educator who holds a Bachelor of Education degree from West Virginia University and a Master of Education from Duquense University. She worked as a teacher in the public school system for twelve years as well as holding positions in both the criminal justice and health care fields.
Lois lived a same sex attraction lifestyle for twenty two years, but by God’s grace, her mother’s unconditional love and prayer for her and the solid teaching and support of her church she left this way of life.
Hear her personal testimony and participate in a Q/A

The next national gathering of United Methodist youth will be July 10-14, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri. Young People’s Ministries, a division of Discipleship Ministries, is announcing details of the event to give churches time to plan for their youth to attend. LIFE-CHANGING MEN’S GATHERING

About 1,000 men are expected to come together for worship, workshops, service and fellowship at the National Gathering of United Methodist Men on July 7-8. Held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, the event will inspire attendees to embrace new possibilities for ministry and discipleship.Learn more. Go to UMM event website

Mission u is an annual event offering opportunities for adults, youth and children to grow spiritually, learn about issues affecting society and experience Christian mission in its many forms. New in 2017 is a Mission in Action option; participants will travel to work sites each morning and return to the Cal u campus for afternoon/evening classes or activities.

Youth Mission u for youth in grades 6-12 begins two days before the main event to allow more time for building relationships and serving neighbors through hands-on work.

Mission u is sponsored jointly by the Conference Global Ministries team and the United Methodist Women. Set up as a long weekend at California University of Pennsylvania, it begins on Thursday evening, but the schedule allows for participation for those who can't arrive until Friday. Families are encouraged to attend and discount rates are offered for family members who room together. For more details, click here
