Time for Listening: There is a Well/Un Pozo Hay Tom Conroy

Reading: A Woman at a Well Mary Lou Sleevi: Women of the Word, p. 45-8

Time for Reflection and Sharing:

Just a brief sharing on the reading

Time for Responding:

How precious is your kindness, O God!

[Your] children take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

They have their fill of the prime gifts of your house;
from your delightful stream you give them to drink.

For with you is the fountain of life,
and in your light we see light. Psalm 36:8-10

Cleanse me of sin with hyssop, that I may be purified;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

A clean heart create for me, O God,
and a steadfast spirit renew within me.

Give me back the joy of your salvation, …
and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Psalm 51:9, 12, 14, 17

Time for Creative Healing:

[M]andalas … symbolizing wholeness, reconciliation with the opposites, restoration of balance and harmony, enhance the potential for centering us and deepening our times of prayer … can be like windows to the soul that awaken inner vistas and open new horizons.

Nan C. Merrill: Meditations and Mandalas, p. 8

Coloring the mandala is a rite, inviting you to ritually circle around the center. … Mandalas are healing. As you sit coloring, you can open to this healing energy…. Adapted from Karla Boyd

So now we ask you to choose a mandala and colors that appeal to you. Spend some quiet time coloring. Allow yourself go to the groundswell of Living Water.

Time for Sharing:

"The good God will give you grace and light to know what is best at the time....Do all that depends on you, my good daughter, to continue well; but I do not want you to kill yourself. The good God asks only for what is possible, not for what is impossible" L307

What is "possible" today in your life that would reflect the spirit of St. Julie?

How many attractions the spiritual life has that are hidden from the eyes of the wise of this world! But what grandeur simple souls discover in it in their lowly sentiments of themselves! Yes, my dear friend, if we could reach this happy knowledge of our nothingness and of the infinite love of the good God, what powerful motives we could draw from it to fill our hearts with gratitude! L20

What "grandeur" have your discovered in the gifts God has given you that you are most grateful for? (i.e. Reflect on your gifts that have been given to you to share with others)

What would St. Julie tell you about your gifts? How can/do you share them?

Time for Blessing:

As the leaders pray, hold your hands in blessing over, or touch the part of the body being blessed.

Blessing taken from Joyce Rupp: Out of the Ordinary, pp.178-9

Time for Singing:

During the singing, all are blessed with hyssop.
