Ongoing Projects

Inpainting in images and sequence of images

(Thesis work)

Abstract:. Image inpainting refers to the problem of seamlessly removing objects from an image.

The work is on applying inpainting to sequence of images (videos) where the missing information is inferred from the neighboring frames. The approach involves use of optical flow and related methods.

Environment: C++ and Matlab

Platform: GNU/Linux and Symbian OS

Projects

Planar Image mosaicing for cell phone

Abstract: In this project we developed a system wherein a programmable cell phone with a camera can be used in collaboration with a Desktop machine to create mosaics of planar scenes.

Environment: C++, Qt 3.0(for GUI), OpenGL (for Graphics)

Platform: GNU/Linux

BioSuite at ATC, TCS (Released by the President, Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in July 2004)

BioSuite is a bioinformatics package to analyze, formulate, predict and provide solutions to specific areas in computational biology. This was developed by the Advanced Technology Center of TCS, Hyderabad. IIIT Hyderabad was an academic partner. We were involved in the development of the graphics visualization Subsystem.

Environment: C++, Qt (for GUI)

Platform: GNU/Linux, IRIX

Stereo Vision

Abstract: The application provides 3 different kinds of stereo visualization for an OpenGL model. Red and Green, Dual-Projection and Active Stereo methods are implemented.

Environment: C++, OpenGL

Platform: GNU/Linux

Prototype Home Surveillance System

Abstract: A system to detect and track human beings in real time was developed using boosted cascade classifier. Under constrained settings the system can reliably detect intruders and raise an alarm.

Environment: Microsoft VC++

Platform: Windows XP

Middleware System for Airlines

Abstract: This project was done as a part of Introduction to Middleware Systems course. In this we developed a middleware system for an Airlines Company, a Bank and an Aircraft Manufacture Company. Web services for reservation, availability and status of flights, money transactions, and delivery of aircrafts were handled.

Environment: J2EE 1.3

Platform: Independent
