Muir manages the Center for Health & Healing for CBRE’s client, Oregon Health & Sciences University (“OHSU”), located along the south waterfront in Portland, OR. CHH is one of the largest LEED Platinum projects in the nation and the first medical facility in the world to be built to this standard.

Muir entered the real estate management and brokerage community in 1983. Prior to joining CBRE, she managed mixed-use, conventional and low-income/tax credit residential communities and, most recently, retail shopping centers, medical offices, and industrial assets in seven states.

Muir earned her Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) designation in 1999. Since then, she has been “passionately” active in IREM locally and nationally. At the local level, she has served in numerous leadership positions with IREM’s Oregon-Columbia River Chapter 29, including that as president. She was awarded the chapter’s “CPM® of the Year” award in 2001 and its “Past President of the Year” award in 2008, 2011, and 2012.

Nationally, she served as IREM’s Regional Vice President (RVP) for Region 12 in 2005 and 2006, and as Vice-Chair of the RVP Committee in 2007. She has been a member of IREM’s National Executive Committee since 2008, and has served on several IREM® task forces, work groups, and evaluation teams. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the IREM® Foundation as well as an IREM® instructor.

Muir has authored many real estate and motivational articles published in the Journal of Property Management (JPM®) and, in 2011, was inducted into the IREM® “Academy of Authors.” In 2010, she was featured in Vol. 2 of 50-Interviews: Successful Property Managers, a book by Michael Levy. In 2011, she was part of the re-write team and a contributing author for the 16th edition of The Principles of Real Estate Management, re-released by IREM® in 2011. She also is a trainer and motivational speaker, and has delivered presentations on real estate and other subjects locally and nationally.

Muir is a native Oregonian and lives in Troutdale, OR with her husband and three Parson Jack Russell terriers. She enjoys riding her 700 Honda CTX motorcycle, has her own company making fashion jewelry (www.hooliedesigns.com), and is writing a book tailored to the real estate sector that she hopes to have published in the near future.
