Graduation Rate–The numberof graduatesdividedbythenumberof participantsthathavelefttheprogram,excluding death and transfer toanother treatmentprogram.

JudicialStatus Hearings – According toKeyComponent#7,Ongoing judicialinteractionwitheach drug courtparticipant is essential. Purpose:Thejudgeistheleaderofthedrug courtteam,linking participantstoAODtreatmentand tothe criminal justicesystem. Thisactive,supervising relationship,

maintainedthroughouttreatment,increasesthelikelihoodthata participantwill remain in treatmentand improvesthe chancesfor sobrietyand law-abiding behavior.Ongoing judicial supervision alsocommunicatesto participants--often for thefirsttime—thatsomeonein authoritycaresaboutthemand iscloselywatching whattheydo.

JuvenileRecidivism- Ajuveniledrug courtgraduatethathasbeenre-arrested for a felonyormisdemeanoroffense.

LEP- Individuals who donotspeakEnglish astheir primarylanguageand whohavealimited abilitytoread,speak,write, or understandEnglish canbelimited English proficient, or"LEP."In certain circumstances,afailuretoensurethatLEP personscan effectivelyparticipateinor benefitfromfederallyassisted programsand activitiesmay violatethe prohibition against national origin discrimination underTitle VI oftheCivilRightsAct of 1964(42U.S.C. 2000d)and the U.S. Departmentof Transportation’s(DOT)TitleVIregulationsat49CFRPart21.

PositiveDrugTestsScreen- A positive drug screen foroneormoresubstances when derived fromonesampleshould beconsidered asone positivetest.

ProgramBeginDate- Thedateparticipantis accepted intoprogramand servicesbegin.

Retention Rate- Thetotalnumberof individualsterminated fromtheaccountabilitycourtprogramdividedbythetotal numberof personsthatbegan theaccountabilitycourtprogram.

Review– Programstaff willconsidereligibilityofreferredcandidatestoenter theaccountabilitycourt program.

Sentenced toa State CorrectionalFacility- Thisreferstoa Statesupervisedsentencing if theparticipanthad elected to notparticipatein drug court.

• Statecorrectional facilitiesinclude: state prison,inmatebootcamps,probation detention centers,probation diversion centers,transition centers,dayreporting centers.

Termination–Theparticipantfailed tocomplywiththerequirementsoftheprogramandwasterminated fromfurther participation andsentbackthrough theregular court process.Alsoincluded in thisnumber isthefollowing:

1. VoluntaryWithdrawal–Theparticipantdetermined,on their own,towithdrawfromthe program. Anexample includes:

• After a participanthasbeen in theprograma shorttimethey decidetheywouldrather gothrough theregular courtprocessinsteadof being part ofthetreatmentcourtprocess.

Transferto otherTreatmentCourt–The participantis:

• Transferred fromonecountytreatmentcourtsupervision todifferentcountytreatmentcourtsupervision.

• Transferred fromonetypeof treatmentcourttoanothertypeof treatmentcourtwithin thesamejurisdiction

(i.e.,fromdrug courttomental health courtinthesamecounty).
