7th Grade

This year you will be asked to take a deeper look into the Saint you choose last year for your project. Since you have already acquired all of the basic information on the life that brought them to God, now you will be looking into the background of how they officially received the title of “Saint”.

Complete the Following:

Re- Write: Your original paper from last year making all the appropriate corrections. The original paper must be turned in with the rewrite. 25points
Miracles: The next component to your written study of your saint is their miracles. These could have been performed either by them during their life through the intercession of the Holy Spirit or a miracle that has occurred as a result prayerful intercession. Choose one and briefly summarize the story. Don’t forget to cite your source in the bibliography. 25points

Remember that section 2 is an addition to your previous paper there for you must continue with the MLA format. You will not only be receiving a grade for this project in Religion but in Language Arts for your papers.

Language Arts: Conventions, Sentence Fluency, Word Choice, Presentation, and Organization for 20 points.

Presentation: Using a standard size poster board (22x28) to create a display board that will resemble a prayer card of your saint. The board must have at least 2 pictures of your saint, and you can be as creative as you wish .It must also include a Title, Canonization date and what they are the patron saint of, a brief summary of the miracle and of course the prayer (sources must be sighted in a Bibliography on the back), Creativity will count significantly here. 50points.
Sharing: Now that you have done the research and acquired all the knowledge necessary you are going to put it together in a presentation. In a brief 3-5 minute presentation in the first person. In other words you will be giving your presentation as if you were that person. You will be expected to give us a brief reminder of your Saint and then share with the class your miracle story. In order to make this portion more fun, I would like you to put your creativity into action. You also need to come dressed as your saint. Remember all costumes must fit within dress code guidelines. If you come dressed inappropriately, there will be no credit given for this portion of the assignment. 25points
Bring your uniform with you to change once your presentation is over.

There are no exceptions to any of these dates. If you know you are not going to be at school that day, make arrangements with me ahead of time. If you are absent on the due date you must come to school the next day prepared to give your presentation in order to get credit.
