Health Education Districtwide
We, in the Jonathan Alder School District, believe that Health Education deals with the general areas of physical well-being, emotional maturity, and social awareness. Needs, interests, concerns and the problems of people are the basis for health instruction. An integral part of our curriculum has been the teaching of growth and development and human sexuality. Abstinence is the main topic of our program. We want you, as parents, to be aware of this instruction so that you can supplement it with your own personal, moral, and religious beliefs about sexuality. The following is an overview of what is presented in Health Education at each grade level in the district. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are state mandated. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your building principal.
