Committee: Community OutreachGoal Statement:The goal of the CLWA Community Outreach Committee is to assist both residents and visitors in making decisions and choosing practices which improve the quality of Canandaigua Lake and its watershed, and to foster a sense of community focused on the Canandaigua Lake watershed.

Update and produce existing CLWA informational handouts such as the CLWA brochure, Lake Friendly Living guide, etc. Identify new topics that require informational print materials. / -Work with Marketing to identify reprinting and updating needs of existing CLWA print materials.
-Reprint of existing materials on emerging watershed-sensitive topics
-Printing cost will vary, to be shared with Marketing / Winter production for spring use.
2. Host educational events- continue Viewpoints Guest Speaker series (fall, late spring, early summer) and workshops (spring and summer).
Explore feasibility of additional events, such as film festivals or outdoor events, such as kayaking with a naturalist / -Funds for the use of FLCC’s Stage 14 or other venue, light refreshments and honoraria for speakers
-Use of local media and CLWA social media to announce events, and follow-up articles with local newspaper and Lake Reporter
-update CLWA website with events calendar and media reminders / Viewpoints Guest Speaker Series: Fall, Late Spring, Early Summer

3. Community-building events, such as the annual CLWA Photo Contest, attending the Canandaigua Farmers Market, etc.
-Work with libraries or local school for a student watershed poster contest / -Printing cost for photo contest calendar TBD
-explore possibility of poster contest with CLWA watershed educators / Select photos in September. Calendar printed for November distribution
4. Coordinate educational outreach efforts with local organizations such as the Watershed Council, FLI, OCSWCD, CCE, Finger Lakes Land Trust, local municipalities and agencies / -promote watershed-related events via CLWA social media and website events calendar / November- begin conversation with FLI pending completion of their program review
5. Assist with keeping the CLWA website and social media current with relevant events and information / -identify and share relevant information with CLWA administrative staff / ongoing
