SDRL Briefing Document

  1. Introduction

The Seller Data Requirements List (SDRL) identifies Seller Data Item requirements in support of the Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) program. Emergent issues that are not addressed herein or otherwise provided for in source documents shall be referred to Austal USA Buyer. Data shall be provided under this Purchase Order/Subcontract.

  1. In accordance with DOD 5230.24 and DODD 5230.25, each Seller Data Item Submittal shall include Distribution Statement D at the bottom of each cover sheet, as follows:

“Distribution Statement D: Distribution authorized to the DoD and U.S. DoD Contractors only. Other requests shall be referred to PEO Ships PMS385.”

  1. All submittals shall be prepared in the Seller’s format unless otherwise noted and shall be clear, legible, and keyed/typed where appropriate. All submittals shall be prepared in the English language.
  1. Seller will submit information to Austal’s Document Control Specialist who will be identified under the contract.
  1. Where the SDRL requirements specify the delivery of electronic data then the following guidance shall apply. Electronic media and digital file names shall be revised to reflect each document’s applicable submittal. Each Seller Data Item shall be submitted with a separate Letter of Transmittal (LT). Each file extension shall be the three-character default extension automatically assigned by the applicable software in which a document is saved. If the software does not automatically assign the three-character extension, the Seller shall assign a three-character extension and specify the document’s applicable software and version on the LT.
  1. The first three characters of each filename shall be the Seller’s name or acronym followed by the date. The filename shall include the applicable Seller Data Item number and a Sellers determined designation, followed by the one-character revision letter, as applicable. Electronic files shall not be password protected.
  1. Data Items shall be assigned a sequential one- alpha character revision designation to reflect changes from the previous submittal.
  1. The Seller shall develop and maintain scheduling data relating to the submission requirements of all individual data items and, to the maximum extent possible, shall ensure that actual deliveries are made on or before due dates. Submission criteria are often based on key events.
  1. The Seller shall maintain internal quality control to ensure submittals are complete and adequate and shall not rely on Buyer/Government review comments to ensure the technical accuracy of data.
  1. The time period for Buyer/Government review, identified in the SDRL, commences at receipt of the data by the Buyer.
  1. All calculations and design data shall be provided in metric standard units unless otherwise specified, or in the inch-pound system where existing documentation is in the inch-pound system.
  1. Electronic media and digital files shall be compatible with computers using Windows XPTM operating system. Unless otherwise specified, the following electronic format products shall be utilized: Microsoft Office 2003TM, Microsoft Project 2002TM, Adobe Acrobat 7.0TM, WinZip 9.0TM,AutoCAD 2005 or 2007TM.
  1. Drawings shall be submitted in an AutoCAD 2005 or 2007TM compatible format unless otherwise specified. Drawings shall not be submitted in “read only” formats. All engineering drawings and associated lists shall be as identified in TYPES AND APPLICATIONS OF ENGINEERING DRAWINGS, ASME Y14.24 and ASSOCIATED LISTS, ASME Y14.34 or equal.
