Joining theMcMullen Facades Construction department working alongside the Construction Director, Project Managers and Contracts Managers.

Candidate

You will be an experienced site manager and motivated team leader with a willingness to develop your role within a team environment. Candidates will have site management experience in the facades and curtain walling sector as a principle subcontractor or installer.

Most importantly the role requires someone with initiative who will take ownership for their work and be able to represent the company's interests in a tactically appropriate way. The successful candidate will have impeccable communication skills as this role will involve extensive communication with site personnel, client and suppliers.

Role

The main elements of the role are:

  • Planning forthcoming site labour requirements;
  • Ensuring capable and appropriate levels of site installation labour resources;
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and in accord with agreed programmes of work;
  • Safeguarding the Company’s position by ensuring relevant site events are recorded and reported in writing to the Main Contractor quickly and contractually;
  • Supporting the installation sub-contractors in the progressing, prompt delivery and ordering of materials;
  • Monitoring incurred installation labour costs are in line with estimated costs;
  • Monitoring attendance and preliminary costs are in line with estimated costs;
  • Maintaining close contact with the main contractor at site level at all stages of the contract;
  • Ensuring all works on site are undertaken in accordance with safe working practices and current Health and Safety legislation, being constantly vigilant to any actual or potential hazards, and encouraging such vigilance among all site personnel;
  • Ensuring installations are carried out in accordance with the System Company procedures and Lakesmere working drawings;
  • Formulating and implementing site inspection practices to safeguard good quality installation and finished product;
  • Preparation of method statements, COSSH, Risk Assessments and Quality plans;
  • Keeping a detailed daily site diary of labour levels, weather, relevant events etc;
  • Setting an example of the Company’s professional image at all levels of contact, and ensure similar conduct from sub-contractors and supervisors.

Other Responsibilities

  • Co-operate with management regarding matters of health, safety and welfare.

Person Specification

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications / Trade background, up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, SMSTS / Membership of a professional body
Experience / Experience in the facades and/or curtain walling sectors
Experience in full control site management
Knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook / Experience of modular building sectors
Key Skills / Proficiency in Microsoft office packages particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Demonstrated ability to follow tasks through to completion
Ability to work on own initiative while positively contributing to all relevant departments
Integrity / Contributes towards an environment of mutual respect
Has an awareness of the impact their decisions may have on others in the office
