Director of Addictive Diseases

JOB SUMMARY

Manage the day-to-day operations of a 27-bed, 28-day residential treatment program serving homeless, male, veterans with addictive diseases. Supervise a clinical staff comprised of nurses, clinicians and technicians. Provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS

  1. Monitors program budget to ensure compliance as presented from the Director
  2. Manages program personnel with appropriate collaboration as necessary with Director
  3. Demonstrates data driven decision capabilities in daily operations and long term planning
  4. Oversees and ensures compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  5. Role models excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
  6. Ensures environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients

CLINICAL

  1. Provides clinical leadership to promote best practices and highest level of services to clients
  2. Assures appropriate clinical programming under supervision
  3. Ensures high quality documentation and conducts documentation/clinical reviews to ensure adherence to agency guidelines
  4. Assures ethical standards and the provision of highest level of services
  5. Enhances development of staff by providing clinical supervision and on-going education
  6. Seeks clinical supervision from Director

SKILL, COMPETENCY AND EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

A description of the skills and competencies required, educational background, training and the amount of experience

RN with at least five years’ work experience in social service delivery (case management, outreach, prevention/ education, client assessment, counseling) and two years of experience as a manager/supervisor. Incumbent must be computer efficient and have the ability to multi-task. Incumbent must have experience working with Veterans and experience working in a Substance Abuse Treatment program.

INTER-RELATIONSHIPS

Must have the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team, clients and as act a liaison with representatives from the program’s referral sources.

WORKING CONDITIONS

A description of physical requirements, travel requirements, hours, and any unusual conditions that may apply.

Duties are primarily completed during the day shift however, would have to have flexibility in work schedule to permit direct supervision of staff who work evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
