Department Background
The Corporate Department is a key part of the Fundraising Division and looks to maximise the income raised from Companies. It is made up of four teams: Corporate Development, Account Management, Commercial and Statutory Fundraising.
Through all the teams, the Corporate Department looks to build long term mutually beneficial partnerships with companies based in the UK, across a range of fundraising mechanics including charity of the year, cause related marketing, affinity, sponsorship, gift in kind donations, corporate events, community partnerships and project funding. The team also works with the rest of the Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraising and non fundraising departments to support and grow fundraising income, raise awareness of the charity and identify more effective and efficient ways of working. The team works in the context of companies Corporate Social Responsibility, sales and marketing and commercial agendas.
The Corporate Department has enjoyed considerable success in the last two years particularly from charity of the year partnerships, winning and delivering them to a very high standard.
Job Summary
To manage and develop corporate partnerships in order to maximise income through staff fundraising, gift in kind and commercial opportunities whilst ensuring that the fundraising opportunities are maximised and that the objectives of both client and charity are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Relationship Management
1. To be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate clients and to develop each relationship to ensure long term fundraising revenue for the Charity.
2. To ensure that all agreed objectives and expectations of both the client and the charity are met.
3. To attend and chair regular meetings with clients.
4. To prepare annual fundraising plans for each account and liaise with other departments within fundraising to ensure the client is supported in carrying out these plans.
5. To form and manage internal “Project Teams” with fundraising and non fundraising teams, to facilitate the management of all corporate partnerships across the charity.
6. To attend client events and to ensure that events are appropriately supported by the relevant Marie Curie personnel. These events may occur at weekends and evenings where time in lieu will be considered.
- To prepare Commercial Participators Agreements (CPA) for clients and ensure that the deadlines and financial agreements agreed to are met. Ensure CPA is in place at the start of each partnership.
8. Ensure senior level contact between MCCC and corporate partners’ senior management teams to galvanise relationships and cultivate new opportunities and long term relationships between the organisations.
Budgeting and Reporting
1. To work towards targets agreed with your line manager and report on all financial arrangements with corporate clients ensuring that all income and expenditure is accounted for and appropriately included in the budget.
2. To ensure that all contacts are entered on to the database and to be responsible for maintaining accurate information on companies.
3. To produce a monthly report and quarterly account evaluations for the Account Management Team Leader.
Other
1. Ensure cross team working to achieve set targets for other fundraising and non fundraising departments.
Other Tasks:
- To work closely with fundraising and non fundraising teams to share information and resources and to ensure all opportunities are being maximised.
- Work with regional teams to ensure the correct level of support for corporate partners.
- Promote key MCCC events to corporate partners to support recruitment and participation in line with the charity’s targets.
