Part B: Additional Attachments to Accompany Application Form

(1) Curriculum Vitae

Applicant must attach a recently prepared professional curriculum vitae or resume to this application. The CV should include the following information:

i)  all educational qualifications;

ii)  employment history over the past 10 years;

iii)  research activities over the past 10 years; and

iv)  a list of publications beginning with the most recent publications (i.e., in reverse chronological order) in each of the following categories:

A.  Single authored books

B.  Jointly authored books

C.  Edited volumes

D.  Translated volumes

E.  Peer reviewed journal articles

F.  Other publications

(2) Research Plan (Research Theme and Objectives during the Period of Appointment)

Applicant must attach a research documented plan with a list of references cited that clearly states:

i)  the objectives to be achieved;

ii)  the theoretical literature to be addressed;

iii)  the methodology; and

iv)  the expected publication outcomes.

The outcomes need to be explicitly stated, with the names of publishers or journals to which manuscripts will be submitted. The plan should be in English and provide considerable detail, but be no longer than 1000 words.

➪ Expectations of Visiting Researchers

Japanese Studies Centre (JSC) has the following expectations of research fellows:

i)  to undertake research and other scholarly activities in ways which support JSC;

ii)  to have at least one publication coming out in the year in which the researcher is at JSC, and to acknowledge JSC in the form of a by-line in all published research arising during the time of appointment within JSC;

iii)  to cooperate with reasonable requests related to a range of activities and resource allocation; and

iv)  to give at least one seminar each semester while at JSC.
