PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL - March 12th13th

Presider:

The Lord has indeed done great things for us. Filled with Joy, we present to our God the needs of those around us and in our midst, as we cry out, Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector:

  1. That our Church model for the world the forbearance, forgiveness, and welcome that bring life, not death…

That reconciliation replace recrimination in our political world, for the sake of achieving the common good…

For those preparing for the Easter sacraments, as they learn the healing and loving ways of the Lord…

That we might seek ways to build up rather than condemn our sisters and brothers during this Jubilee Year of Mercy…

For the hungry, the homeless, all those in need among us; and for the intentions in our parish book…in this time of hope and mercy, we pray....

2. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: ...... especially Claris Montalvo, Josephine Rutka, Digna Irizarry, Mary Thomas, Iomogene Morris, Margaret Lisse, Diana Cerrano, Fr. Vincent Burke, Fr. Jason Anchanickal, Val Maxey, Karen Walsh, Maria Moran-Sullivan, Kathleen Harris, Marguerite LaMarque, … and all those wounded in the service of our country,..... that they be patient in their time of suffering and soon come to the fullness of health.... in this time of hope and mercy, we pray....

3. For those who have died, whose memories are with us at this time:

Sat. 5:30 pm Evenlina Runco

Sun. 8:30 am Ron Corris

10:00 am Anne M. Duffell

12:30 pm Michael J. Wallace

5:30 pm Angela Holahan

(For whom this mass is offered)

Matteo Arlia, Nancy Reagan, William Peters Blanc and Alicia Escovar de Jaramillowho died during the past week...the victims of our present wars, and all victims of terrorism that they may rest forever in the embrace of the one true God, in this time of hope and mercy, we pray....

4.And let us pause now to present our own personal petitions...(PAUSE ....count to 10)...... We are still a nation at war, let us pray for our president, our elected officials, the members of our diplomatic corps(core) and all those who serve our country in our uniformed services..... may their efforts for peace and justice be fruitful;..... together, let us raise our voices in a prayer for true and lasting peace......

the words are found on the back cover of the hymnal...

Presider:
