Job Summary

To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and delivered to develop unrestricted income in line with Vauxhall City Farm strategies. To achieve this by the creation and implementation of an community fundraising strategy - the fundraising strategy to include the development of volunteer networks and fundraising groups across the area.

Main Duties

1. Ensuring the delivery of fundraising plans and activities:

  • Setting and delivering against annual budgets, targets and plans
  • Ensuring that fundraising events, activities, mailings and collections etc run effectively and are well planned, marketed and supported
  • Set up and run a communication program with farm supporters
  • Attending local and regional fundraising activities and events
  • Develop concepts and produce fundraising materials and tools to meet the needs of supporters
  • Ensure that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and accessible
  • Providing reports and information about activity, performance, supporters, volunteers etc as necessary and upon request.

2. Putting the supporter first:

  • Working with supporters in ways that encourage and support people to fundraise for Vauxhall City Farm
  • Providing and facilitating supporters with a choice of how they fundraise and work with Vauxhall City Farm
  • Responding to enquiries from the public, volunteers, fundraisers etc (by phone, mail and in person) including responding to requests for information and material etc
  • Giving talks and presentations to local organisations eg schools, rotary clubs, WIs etc, to increase awareness of and support for Vauxhall City Farm activities.

3. Developing and managing key relationships inside Vauxhall City Farms:

  • Working with Senior Management Team to establish fundraising opportunities
  • Working with local media and PR to maximise publicity and awareness of Vauxhall City Farm and its activities.

4. Development of Membership Strategy

  • Review current Membership strategy leading to creation of plan to further support Members of Vauxhall City farm
  • Increase Vauxhall City Farm membership, diversifying our membership base
  • Manage membership database, create methods to effectively communicate with supporters on a regular basis
  • Using current supporters, develop strategy to encourage regular donations to aid budget targets

5. General:

  • Working within Vauxhall City Farm policies, procedures and adhering to legal frameworks
  • Cash handling, banking, acknowledging and receipting income in accordance with Vauxhall City Farm policies and procedures
  • Undertaking administrative duties as required

Experience / Proven experience of raising significant funds from community supporters, high value individuals or other sources
Relevant experience which includes planning, delivering projects and relationship management
Proven experience of inspiring a diverse range of supporters or similar audiences
Proven experience of establishing and maintaining successful long term relationships with supporters or external contacts
Developing proposals and reports / Working with supporters, e.g. volunteers, speakers or well networked individuals
Monitoring income and expenditure budgets
Marketing to different audiences
Developing annual fundraising plans
Using a relationship database for record keeping as well as targeted communication and analysis

Salary£25,000 per annum pro rata (Part Time, 3 days a week)

Working hours18.5 hours per week

Annual leave entitlement25 days on appointment (excluding bank holidays) pro rata

Notice periodOne month

Probationary periodSix months (not applicable to internal applicants)
