How we work:

Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children in the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 370,000 children, young people and families. 'Women's and Girls Together Project' is an innovative new service operating in Pembrokeshire for vulnerable females aged 12 to 21 years who are at risk of exploitation, violence, grooming, maybe exhibiting risk taking behaviours or are being targeted by perpetrators. The service is child and young person focused and works in partnership with other multi-disciplinary teams across the county including Health and Social Services. The service is delivered through group, 1:1 support and peer mentoring support.

How you'll make a difference:

  • By working with vulnerable females to better their emotional well-being and self-belief.
  • By working with vulnerable females to support them to recognise negative relationships, risk taking behaviour and the consequences of this.
  • By working with vulnerable females to improve the five psychosocial skills.
  • By working in a holistic, person-centred way, creating accessible and person centred friendly plans and assessments.
  • By contributing to the development of the service through a team approach and service evaluation.
  • By working in partnership with organisations and agencies such as Health and Social Services.

What you'll need:

  • Experience of working with Children and Young People through 1:1 work and a group setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of what the threats could be to a vulnerable female such as CSE, violence or grooming.
  • Knowledge of child protection and looked after child processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain electronic files.
  • Ability to create person centred plans and complete person-centred reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work within deadlines.
  • Able to work flexibly including evenings.
