Job Title: What Works Fund Project Co-Ordinator

Duration of position: April 2017 to April 2018 (1 year fixed-term contract)

Salary Scale: £27,394 per annum SO1 point 31

Hours: 35 hours per week

Purpose of Post:

To manage and co-ordinate a financial capability evaluation based

project within Advice NI. Funded by the Money Advice Service What Works

Programme.

DUTIES

The appointed person will be working in conjunction with the Head of Training, Advice NI’s Training Team, the appointed Steering Group, and an External Evaluator to carry out the following duties:

·  To ensure the effective day to day running of the project and act as lead contact between all project partners/groups/funders.

·  To establish, co-ordinate and administer the project steering group.

·  To develop and implement a Memorandum of Understanding with project partners.

·  To contribute to the overall planning of the project, including the finalisation and implementation of the Evaluation Plan.

·  To develop and implement a Communications, Marketing, Engagement, Learning and Sharing Strategy for the project.

·  To deliver presentations, write press releases, organising launch events and lead on media engagement.

·  To assist with the project research and evaluation including collection, collation, and analysis of data.

·  To assist with the development and implementation of financial capability and volunteer training sessions including a needs analysis, delivery, organisation, and administration.

·  To assist with the development and implementation of a Signposting & Referral Strategy for the project.

·  To perform a quality assurance role across the project including quality assurance of training materials, evaluation tools and evaluation reports.

·  To monitor, record and report on outputs and outcomes of the project for funders and other stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner, to including quarterly reports, progress reports, summary reports, research reports, and evaluation reports.

·  To ensure project and delivery targets are met.

·  To use and follow Advice NI processes, systems, policies and procedures e.g. for delivery, recording, reporting, communications and so on.

·  To ensure organisational and legislative policies and procedures are adhered to including Equal Opportunities.

·  To attend team and staff meetings and contribute to the team and organisation’s operational and strategic planning.

·  To carry out general clerical duties such as typing, word processing, photocopying, filing and handling of post as required by the role.

·  To maintain Continued Professional Development (CPD) and ensure that it is both up to date and relevant in the areas of financial capability, evaluation, training and legislation through desk top research and attendance at relevant training/events.

·  To prepare and contribute to team progress reports and other relevant documentation as required.

·  Promote and market Advice NI training and specific training projects, and contribute to the development and quality assurance of Advice NI’s bi-annual training brochure and calendar.

·  To represent Advice NI at meetings and with outside bodies and relevant agencies as required.

·  To undertake such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time.

·  The applicant may be required to work some unsociable hours.

·  The applicant will be required to travel.

What Works Fund Project Co-Ordinator - Job Specification

Essential / Desirable

Education

/ Have a good standard of education, 5 GCSE (or equivalent) including English & Maths. / Third level Qualification.
Qualification in Project Co-Ordination or Project Management.
Training/qualification in research and/or evaluation.
Have completed a Train the Trainer (or higher level) course.

Experience

/ At least 2 years’ demonstrable experience of Project Co-ordination or Project Management gained in the last 5 years.
Demonstrable experience of delivering training or presentations.
Experience of working with vulnerable adults or young people. / Experience of research or evaluation.
Experience of working with people who have experienced mental ill health.
Experience of communications, marketing and engagement.
Experience of organising training/events.

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
