Job Title:Senior Project Worker (Peppercorns)

Reporting to:Day Services Manager

Salary:£19,817 - £22,443

NJC Paypoint 22-26

Hours of Work:37hrs per week

Job Summary:Toact as Senior Project Worker for Peppercorns and assist the Day Services Manager in providing the day to day operational management of the building in order to develop, deliver and support a range of vocational, educational and relevant activities for people with learning disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the day to day organisation and management of the Centre and its activities in the absence of the Day Services Manager.
  1. Provide guidance and assessment, to enable service users to access the relevant activities/training programmes being delivered at the Centre.
  1. To support staff, volunteers and service users in the development and delivery of training and activities to meet individual needs.
  1. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of activities/ programmes being run from the centre in order to establish areas for future development, to meet identified demands.
  1. Contribute to the marketing and promotion of the activities/training programmes and other leisure activities offered at Peppercorns in order to attract a full range of potential service users and maximise community involvement.
  1. To network with potential users of the centre to meet with aims for the centre (ethnic minorities, challenging behaviour, local disability schools, local community).
  1. To support the Peppercorns members working group in order to determine the best activities to run within from the centre.
  1. To ensure that the building and equipment are maintained in good orderand adheres to the Health and Safety legislation requirements.
  1. Plan, organise and run training sessions for service users to enable them to maximise their full potential.
  1. Assist the Day Services Manager to supervise a number of Receptionists, ProjectAssistants, volunteers and sessional staff working within the centre.
  1. Provide accurate written and verbal reports as required.
  1. To attend regular training sessions and meetings to maintain the skills, knowledge and information required to undertake the full range of duties of the post effectively.
  1. To liaise effectively with DGSM yourChoice head office and other projects run by DGSM yourChoice.
