Position Summary: The Senior Manager of Operations (SMO) plays the critical leading role in the operations and financial functions of WithinReach. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This position helps define and implement the infrastructure systems needed to support growth over the next five to 10 years. The SMO is involved in strategic financial planning and organizational risk management. The position oversees the tracking process for vendor, government and other contracts. The SMO builds and manages effective and streamlined systems related to accounting, compliance and internal control, information technology (IT), human resources (HR), and facilities. This is a tremendous opportunity for an operations leader to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, innovative, high-impact organization. Accounting, administrative, and IT staff report to the SMO. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Human Resources:

Oversee implementation of HR policies and handle delicate HR issues with the assistance of an HR consulting firm and other appropriate management and/or executive staff. Negotiate annual employee benefits package with benefits administrator. Manage hiring, onboarding and exiting processes for new and terminating employees. Review and recommend improvements to personnel file management. Along with executive team, provide leadership to the organization around employee engagement, professional development and performance evaluations.

• Information Technology:

Work with IT staff and consultants to oversee technology planning for WithinReach to ensure that IT systems are well-managed and integrated. Review and recommend improvements to IT policies, processes and infrastructure. Hire and supervisor IT consultants and vendors. Champion the use of technology to achieve effective and efficient operations, minimize manual steps and better use human and financial resources.

• Facilities and Other Operations:

Manage the office lease, office space, furniture and equipment needs of the organization. Work with operations staff around office moves and use of space. Provide guidance to administrative assistant around facility maintenance. Manage emergency preparedness and staff safety procedures.

• Finance:

Work with Senior Accountant and contract CPA to insure best practice internal control and reporting procedures. Participate in the management of government and private grant compliance and tracking. Manage relationships with external finance consultants. Oversee the timely preparation of external financial and other regulatory filings.

Performs related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer of WithinReach

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of operations management, to include problem-solving and process improvement, organizational development, technology innovation and support of a high performing team

• Excellent project management skills

• Computer literacy in QuickBooks accounting system and in Excel

• Strong analytical skills combined with creativity and strategic thinking

• Proven track record of managing successful human resource and technology management systems

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to collaborate across job functions, supporting all organizational departments to work towards individual and common goals

Salary & Benefits: $70,000-$75,000. Excellent benefits include fully paid medical coverage, vision and dental for employees and generous coverage for spouses, partners and dependents. Paid time off and employer-matched retirement plan.
