Job Title: Project Manager (Wirral CVS Carers Mentoring Project)
Location:Unit 30, WoodsideBusinessPark, Shore Road, BirkenheadCH41 1EL
Hours:35 per week
Annual Leave:27 p/a, plus public holidays
Responsible to: The Deputy Chief Executive
Responsible for:Project Co-ordinator, Part-time Project Administrator, Sessional Staff
Contract Length: 4 Years fixed term contract (upon successful completion of a 3month probationary period)
Salary: £26,000.00 p/a
Purpose of the Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the Wirral CVS Carers Mentoring Project including the promotion and development of the project, the management / supervision of project staff, co-ordination / safeguarding of project activities and meeting project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Management
- To be responsible for the overall operational management of the Wirral CVS Carer Mentoring Project
- To be responsible for the line management / supervision of the Project Co-ordinator / Project Administrator and any sessional staff appointed
- To be responsible for the management / set up of the mentor volunteering programme
- To be responsible for the management of any external consultants / evaluators used in connection with project activities
- To be responsible for co-ordinating, managing and increasing project outreach locations
- To be responsible for the co-ordination of training; including management / recruitment of sessional staff, undertaking the role of IV, writing schemes of work and lesson plans, liaising with awarding body and managing certification process
- To be responsible for the management of service protocols (including data protection) and risk assessments
B. Service Development / Marketing
- To promote the project and build and maintain good working relationships with a range of referral organisations such as statutory, third sector and private sector providers
- To ensure that the project is well publicised through a variety of media, including website and social media, to ensure individuals and organisations know how they can participate and feel inspired and encouraged to do so
- To be responsible for the management of online communication channels including websites and social media activity
- To be responsible for maintaining effective communication – both internally and externally – to share the success and progress of the project with key stakeholders
- To promote the mentoring training development opportunities to both carers / members of the community and key stakeholders
- To be responsible for the service mapping of local carer services
- To be responsible for the development of the project into a social franchising package that can be promoted to key national stakeholders
C. Project Monitoring / Record Keeping
- To ensurethe project meets the objectives / outcomes as set within the project plan
- To compile monthly monitoring reports on project outcomes / achievements
- To be responsible for the management of service evaluation systems alongside external evaluations
- To be responsible for monthly project appraisals making adaption’s where necessary
D.Team work
- To have a team work approach and be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organisation in order to provide a quality service to all of its service users
2. To work as a member of the team, contributing to service planning and developments
3. To participate in training programmes and attend courses, seminars or conferences as agreed with line manager
E.Other
- To undertake other such duties consistent with the post, as jointly agreed between the post holder and Wirral CVS
- To undertake any other appropriate tasks as required by line manager, as may reasonably be required within the scope of the post
- To at all times deliver the service in line with, and adhere to, Wirral CVS policies and procedures
- To fulfill all requirements of personnel and organisational health and safety policies and procedures commensurate with the post
- To take part in the WCVS appraisal system
