Job Description
FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR
Reports to:Head of Finance
Salary:£29,000 (salary benchmarking due end 2015)
Introduction:
The International Office of The Leprosy Mission supports the work of our projects based in 28 countries overseas and our 23 fundraising Supporting Councils. We work together to achieve our purpose of ministering in the name of Jesus Christ to the physical mental, social and spiritual needs of individuals and communities disadvantaged by leprosy, working with them to uphold human dignity and eradicate leprosy.
Purpose of the Job
To support the Head of Finance and the finance team in the day to day financial activities of the organisation in an accurate and timely manner.
The postholder will be responsible for preparation of management accounts, and payroll.
Principal responsibilities:
- Maintain bought ledger and resolve supplier’s queries and payments.
- Maintain cash books and sterling and foreign currency, for the Mission & Pension scheme and carry out monthly bank reconciliation.
- Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts on monthly and quarterly basis and prepare schedules for TLMI, TLM CPS and TLM Scotland. This will include inter-company accounts with Supporting Countries and Implementing Countries.
- Produce monthly financial reports and carry out month-end procedures and back ups.
- Prepare quarterly allowances for International Field Staff, processing payments to their personal accounts and resolving queries including payment of overseas pensioners.
- Responsible for monthly UK Payroll processing and online filing to HMRC for five companies. Dealing with employee queries and production of P60.
- Responsible for production of monthly Cash flow statement & Quarterly Management accounts. Deal with all queries with other members of the finance team.
- Responsible for reconciliation of staff Credit card statements and journal the expenses to appropriate expenditure headings.
- Responsible for maintaining Sterling and Foreign petty cash, regular cash count and reconciliation and posting to Nominal ledger
- Prepare audit schedules and lead schedules in advance of external audit to discuss with Head of Finance and be involved in preparing analysis reports in response to audit queries.
- Preparation of variance analysis with explanation of TLMI (Global) budget Vs Actual.
- Preparation of Global Accounts Analysis of TLM Supporting countries which involves liaising with Supporting Countries to receive the right information and finalise the report with head of Finance.
- Provide necessary support in the preparation of Annual TLM Fellowship Global budget which include collate informationfrom supporting countries and implementing countries.
- Perform other duties as required by the Head of Finance.
- To represent TLM’s Christian ethos throughout their work activities by applying a Christian mind and attitude.
- To spiritually support the work of the mission through Christian prayer and fellowship, daily at the International Office and at various meetings throughout the year.

- Hold a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
Relevant Experience /
- Demonstrable experience of working with nominal ledgers, trial balances and monthly financial reports

- Knowledge and experience of accounts administration

- Working knowledge of Excel and Word to intermediate level
- High level of numeracy and accuracy

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Location:International Office, 80 Windmill Road, Brentford, Middlesex, TW8 0QH
Office Hours:Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with one hour for lunch.
Annual Leave:25 days (pro rata) plus statutory bank holidays (full year) 3 days of which must be taken between Christmas and New Year.
