JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Online Information Development Worker
Hours: 21.75 hours per week to be worked flexibly in line with service needs
Salary Scale/Grade: £23,007 (pro rata); Health in Mind scale point 27
Responsible for: A small team of volunteers
Responsible to: Depute Chief Executive
Location: Shandwick Place, with travel throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians
Holidays: 30 days, plus 12 days public holidays
Contract length: 31st October 2019, continuation subject to funding.
Purpose of Job
To update, maintain and develop four mental health information websites (Edspace.org.uk, MidSpace.co.uk, Eastspace.org.uk, WestSpace.org.uk), through networking and forming good working relationships with service providers, groups and organisations across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
To support and manage a small team of volunteers who help update the websites
To write and disseminate an e-bulletin for each website, highlighting key mental health events and news within the local area.
To use social media to promote and raise awareness of the websites and local mental health services in each area.
Main tasks
1. Service Delivery
1.1. To ensure the effective management of information for the websites which includes producing and adding content to the websites on a regular basis
1.2. Ensure that website content is up-to-date, accurate, relevant, of high quality and accessible at all times
1.3. Create a monthly e bulletin/ newsletter for each website and manage the mailing lists in line with Data Protection Legislation
1.4. Work in partnership with external agencies, building relationships and connections with relevant services
1.5. Actively promote the websites through social media, networking, and other relevant methods
1.6. Gather and collate relevant data for monitoring and evaluation, creating regular reports
2. Service Development
2.1. To establish and facilitate a steering group for each website to ensure the website meets local needs and is developed in line with local priorities.
2.2. To plan for ongoing service improvement and development
3. People Management / Team Working
3.1. Recruit, and train a team of volunteers to support the work of the websites
3.2. Manage, support, and supervise volunteers in keeping with Health in Mind policies, ensuring that they are appropriately skilled and able to fulfil the changing requirements of their roles
3.3. Develop and promote effective team working within the online information volunteer team
4. Resource Management
4.1. Authorise and monitor volunteer expenses in keeping with the service budget
4.2. Contribute to funding applications / business cases.
5. Communication
5.1. To contribute to improved communication in the team and across Health in Mind, through providing and sharing information appropriately, for example, through team briefing.
5.2. To represent Health in Mind at appropriate external meetings and effectively promote its service delivery.
6. Support, Supervision and Development
6.1 The post holder will receive regular support and supervision from the Depute Chief Executive
6.2 The post holder will have an annual appraisal which will include identifying learning and development needs
6.3 The post holder will have access to Health in Mind training calendar and external training in line with identified need.
7. Other

Experience
Essential
· Experience of producing written content in order to provide information
· Experience of using social media on behalf of an organisation
· Experience of working in partnership with others
Desirable
· Experience of supporting and managing volunteers, either in a paid or voluntary role
· Experience of delivering training
· Experience with Wordpress
