Job Title:Major Donor Fundraiser

Reports to:Head of Fundraising

JOB SUMMARY:

The major donor fundraiser will be responsible for generating the voluntary income required to deliver our exceptional care. The post holder will provide strong and effective direction, management of people, driving growth of the major donor income to meet new performance targets. The post holder will also drive continuous improvement in the quality of key major donor care by developing long term partnerships with all key stakeholders.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and delivery of the hospice major donor fundraising strategy

  • Alongside the Head of Fundraising you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our major donor fundraising strategy.
  • Undertake personal responsibility for the delivery of an agreed fundraising target in major donor giving.
  • Promote an existing portfolio of major donor products to a large potential donor base of hospice supporters.
  • To develop a number of key approaches as part of a wider hospice capital giving campaign.
  • Identify opportunities for future growth in major donor income generation.

Delivery of major donor income targets within agreed expenditure budgets

  • To identify and manage a portfolio of existing major donors and new prospects.
  • To personally secure donations from prospects and donors, working with colleagues and/or volunteers as required.
  • To develop and deliver tailored solicitations and stewardship plans.
  • Develop and deliver effective performance monitoring reports on major donor activity as and when required.

Working collaboratively across the hospice

  • To identify and manage individuals in leadership positions to influence major giving activity in focus areas
  • Lead major donor fundraising across the hospice and wider community offering support and leadership to our network of support groups and other volunteers
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure maximum performance in key areas and promote effective cross-team working with Clinical Services, Wellbeing, Retail and Finance.

To ensure that the organisation complies with Charity Law and abides by good fundraising practice as set out by the Fundraising Regulator
