Job Title: Machine OperatorDepartment: Operations

REPORTS TO:Lead PersonStatus:Non Exempt Hourly

  1. GENERAL SUMMARY:

Operates CNC Mills and/or Lathes to meet production requirements and specifications. Operates other manual equipment as required. Inspects work as required.

II.PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

  1. Operates all types of CNC Mills or lathes at the quantity and quality required.
  2. Keep tools, jigs, fixtures and supplies in neat and orderly condition.
  3. Be able to make basic machine offsets and change tools.
  4. Insures the manufacturing area is kept clean and organized.
  5. Complies with specified production methods, processes and procedures.
  6. Complies with the company handbook and all company policies including safety, GMP and ISO requirements.
  7. Accurately reports time, quantity of parts made, rejects made and any other required data.
  8. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Person or Management including assignment to other APP sites.

III.BACKGROUND:

Must be able to operate a CNC Mill and/or Lathe.

Must be able to use and read micrometers, calipers, and other types of measurement devices.

Has daily contact with Lead Person, and occasional contact with all levels of management.

  1. CONDITIONS AND EQUIPMENT:

Must be able to work with CNC equipment.

V.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Must have a Trade School degree or equivalent experience.

Must have 0 - 3 years in a machine shop environment.

Must be able to read blue prints.

Must be able to operate CNC Mills and/or lathes and other machine shop equipment

Must have strong mechanical skills.

Basic knowledge of GD&T

Effective communication skills in listening, speaking and writing. Reading and writing English is required.

Good judgment and good decision making skills.

Self-motivated and results oriented.

Ability to support department and company policies.

Must be able to use the ERP system to log in labor and quantities.

Must have basic PC skills to locate documents on company computer drives.
