Job Title: Lead LightingDesigner

Accountable To:Technical Director

Status: Salaried. $30,000 per year.

Full-Time.

Sunday thru Thursday. 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

Flexible to accommodate the Events Schedule.

Job Titles Supervised:Lighting Technician

Purpose:To serve New Life Church by providing lighting support for weekly meetings, special events and main A1 events. Provide direction to Lighting Technician and volunteers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide lighting support for weekly meetings.
  • Assist with set design.
  • Responsible for creating and following a lighting system checklist.
  • Purchase and installation of lighting equipment when necessary.
  • Equipment repair and maintenance of all lighting equipment.
  • Maintain sufficient quantities of standard replacement lighting components.
  • Evaluate the needs and requests of event guests and leaders and find solutions to those needs.
  • Supervise lighting department personnel.
  • Keep on site venues in a state of “readiness”.
  • Responsible for staying current on industry trends and equipment.
  • Support New Life Church with your tithe.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and event planning meetings when requested.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church and the World Prayer Center.
  • Cooperate with the Technical Director and Special Events Coordinator by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Minimum Requirements

Education:High School Diploma. College graduate preferred.

Experience:4 year minimum experience in lighting design, maintenance and repair of lighting devices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have basic knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to trouble-shoot lighting systems.
  • Must be able to demonstrate style, creativity and competency in managing lighting systems.
  • Above average understanding of apple and PC computer systems.
  • Must have a good sense of timing.
  • Familiarity with Martin Lighting consoles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to receive instruction.
  • Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions.
  • Detail–oriented and self motivated.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.
  • Personable and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects on time with little guidance.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
