Responsible For:Supporting the LRS team and Board better understand how we use insight to design and shape delivery to change the behaviours of inactive communities in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland. Measuring and evaluating the impact of LRS projects and programmes.

Liaison With:Officers, partners and key stakeholders of Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport.Regional and national agencies

Job Purpose:To lead Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport’sinsight and performance management functions. Provide expertise around insight and behaviour change for the LRS team and Board to ensure we address inactivity through an evidenced based approach.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DEVELOPING INSIGHT

  1. Produceand interpret qualitative research that supports LRS understand the sport and physical activity needs of the communities of Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
  1. Produce and interpret quantitative research. This may include designing questionnaires and using tools such as Survey Monkey. Analyse the resulting data and develop findings and recommendations.
  1. Use national tools such as Sport England’s “Active Lives, Active Places and Insight packs to build our knowledge and understanding of the sport and physical activity landscape. Become the expert on national and local insight and provide advice and support to the LRS team, Board and partners.
  1. Support the LRS team and partners to use insight and data tools appropriately to support project planning and the production of high quality grant aid applicationsto potential future funding partners.
  1. To assist with the design, development and delivery of the Me and My research and data tool.

BEHAVIOUR CHANGE

  1. Understand the specific determinants of inactive individuals and then in-conjunction with officers and partners, identify and design behaviour change methods which will encourage people to become physically active
  2. Understand the most effective methods of effecting behaviour change in the context of physical inactivity and be able to support LRS staff and partners implement appropriate interventions.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour change interventions. Present findings in both verbal and written formats ensuring that good practice and improvement areas are presented.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  1. Design and continually refine a performance management system that enables the LRS team demonstrate its impact and effectiveness to the LRS Board and to a range of external funding partners. To support the LRS team meet all key reporting deadlines to its Board, Sport England and other key funding partners.
  1. Use a range of methods, including an external partner survey, QUEST and customer questionnaires to help the LRS team and Board to continually improve the quality of service that it offers.

SPECIAL FACTORS :

Subject to the duration of the need, the special conditions given below apply :

(a)The nature of the work may involve the post holder carrying out work outside of normal working hours.

(b)The post holder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.

(c)Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service.

(d)This post is subject to a check being carried out at a Standard level by the Criminal Records Bureau regarding any previous criminal record.

(e)The post holder must be able to travel independently throughout the LRS area .
