Job title:Finance & Resources Officer

Salary:£19,561.80 (up to £15,650 pro rata)

Benefits:Up to 6% matched employer pension provision

Accountancy training through BPP subject to availability

Flexible work pattern by agreement

Reporting to:Finance Manager

Location:Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL

Contract: 6 months fixed term with possibility of role becoming permanent

Part time (25-28 hoursper weekby agreement)

This is a great developmental role for someone who is keen to progress in a charity finance role in a supportive environment.

Main duties:

  1. Support the Finance Manager with the day to day management of the charity’s finances including:
  2. Inputting and uploading finance data onto the charity’s finance system (Quickbooks Online)
  3. Coding purchase invoices
  4. Inputting payments onto CAF Bank online
  5. Uploading income data onto Civi CRM and Quickbooks Online
  6. Reconciling the charity’s bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts
  7. Collating, monitoring and reconciling petty cash and cashcard control records and receipts received from the PSU regional offices at month end
  8. Creating and inputting month end journals
  9. Providing finance support to the Fundraising team and the PSU regional offices
  10. Monitoring the status of the purchase and sales ledgers
  1. Other
  2. Filing and admin support to the Finance & Resources team
  3. Other support to the Finance & Resources team as required
  4. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the PSU’s equal opportunities, confidentiality, data protection and personal safety policies
  5. To act as necessary as a support to clients, volunteers and other staff on occasion
  6. This list of tasks is not exhaustive and will be reviewed from time to time in discussion with the post holder.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential requirements:

  1. At least 3 months experience in a finance role
  2. A desire to progress within a finance role in a charity
  3. Intermediate excel skills
  4. Highly numerate
  5. Enthusiasm, flexibility, energy and commitment
  6. Well organised and methodical
  7. Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  8. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in writing and verbally
  9. Empathy and sensitivity for working with staff whose role is to deliver the charity’s service
  10. Full sympathy with The PSU’s ethos and aims

Desirable requirements:

  1. Experience of using Quickbooks Online
  2. Experience of working in the voluntary sector
  3. Understanding of the law and/or a passion for social inclusion
